Is it possible your brother potentially broke it in the first place by messing around with it and then made it even worse by further messing without really knowing what he was doing?

The PC didn't regress by a bios version, that doesn't and can't happen, and it's not because it's an A320M either.

Obviously, failures happen in all components, but it is easy for someone to screw up a manual bios update or by fiddling with settings they don't really know about.

When you say "little" brother it's hard to know if you mean an actual kid or young adult or whatever, but he could know more than he is letting on. I know from experience kids can be desperate for messing with stuff because they saw a YouTube video about overclocking or something and convince themselves that the PC/game will be "so much faster" if they do it.

Also, any new A320M will run a Ryzen 3600 out of the box and has done for a long time. It was only older A320M boards released long before Ryzen 2 that needed a bios update, so you are fine to get another A320M.

Was just talking to him there he's 13, he says he installed FiveM a GTA mod and then it stopped working.

Could this have caused the problem? a virus or something?

Also can I confirm after I removed the motherboard battery for 15 minutes that I now am on the factory default motherboard BIOS?

It would NOT have regressed to an older bios so the board doesn't need reflashing. Have you put the 3600 back in now with the working power supply?

Put 3600 back in today no display on monitor at all.

No, the bios will still be the newer version that you flashed onto it previously. Removing the battery "resets" the settings of the current bios, but doesn't affect the actual bios version.

Think of it like wiping Windows 8 and installing a clean copy of Windows 10, then later resetting the OS. It will of course just reset Win10, it won't magically turn back into Win8.

It's not a bios issue unless your brother messed it up by trying to tinker around with stuff he wasn't sure about. In which case the board could be bricked.

Also a virus wouldn't cause this, no. It's gotten a bit more awkward now because with all the messing about, who knows what's broken or damaged.

Would a dead r stick cause the bios not to post?

I can't actually check ram because I don't have another pc to put it into by other brothers board I'd ddr3

I'm thinking next I might try fix the pins on the ryzen 1200 and see if it posts. Then I'll know the 3600 is faulty.

Sorry for hijacking the post, it feels like after Brexit its pretty much next to impossible to get a GPU imported over to Ireland. The depression is settling in...

Emailed Scan the other day, they said they should be sorting Ireland soon, though a 20% spike in price won't make it the best option to buy at from now on.

    Hi guys,

Got new power supply and installed it and system was completely dead.

Decided to take motherboard out of case and check if system powered up, which it did.

Think problem might have been the motherboard was touching off the case(not on standoffs properly), not sure how my other bothers power supply worked but anyway all working now.

    Thanks all for help.
