Can ye tell me what size/type of target is used for the Bullseye 360 comps in the Midlands please?

Edit - I googled it to death but no avail.

You've shot on the Midlands so you're aware of the cenrtrefire, concentric circle, targets?

I believe, and i'm open to correction, they use that as the first target and then use smaller (from 6 or 7 ring to the v-bull) inserts to replace the centres after each detail.

I had a couple of the inserts but cannot find them as its been over a year since i shot a match plus they collect them after each detail to get scores and for record keeping.

I measured the centrefire rifle target and the v-bull is 21/22mm, the 10 ring is 45mm, and each scoring ring measures 22mm (7/8") from 9 out to 1.

These are a rough facsimile of the target

and these of the inserts between details to avoid using full targets each time. They're A4 size iirc.

Cass, thanks for that, I wanted an idea of what I'd be looking at.

    Any caliber.
    and distances?
Pistol is 25yards to 10 yards in 5 yard increments.

Rifle is 50 yards, 40 yards and 25 yards. Lying, kneeling/sitting, and standing. All free hand, no slings, bipods, rests or aids of any kind to support the shooter/rifle.

As said any caliber, any sights.

Should mention each detail is timed.

Would Most would be using .22LR for rifle?

50/50 mix on CF or .22 rifles.

Grizzly said above but to elaborate a little its split.

There is a rimfire pistol and rifle category and a centrefire pistol and rifle section. We fire beside each other, but depending on what you use its put into the rimfire or C/F category.

There is also a different number of rounds used in both to keep everyone within the limits of their licenses. The rimfire pistol details are two mags of five rounds while the C/F pistol details use two mags of 6 rounds.

I rarely do the rimfire rifle but i believe, and someone correct me if i'm wrong, they're the same as the C/F as neither are above 6 rounds and 6 rounds does not make any rifle restricted. IOW it doesn't exclude those on unrestricted licenses for participating.

I use .38 spl lever action for CF and a 10/22 for RF. I always liked the course of fire and was lucky enough to win and get placed in a few of the comps.
But then again I 'WAS THE BEST SHOT THERE'

Still waiting a chance to give you a match on the "long comp" 360.;):D

Basically a rifle 360 match same round count and time just longer distances. Has kind of fallen out of fashion in recent times.

As above - great 'shooting and sh*te talk' atmosphere.
It's demanding enough to make you want to do better, but you don't need to be training every week (or even every month) to be competitive.

Am I wrong or is there a category for SA CF?

This is indeed good news. Must give it a try when things open back up. Haven't got to shoot a competition with it yet.
