No. The dumping of links isn't intended for discussion, it's for propaganda. MAGA isn't about intellectual debate, it's about hatred and control. It's the reason that none of the MAGA brigade have cared about Trump doing anything to improve their standard of living.

We get comments like the silly sense of humour "defence" above because the propaganda doesn't look so good with a comment debunking it right there beside it.

America's system feeds this as you've only to smear one opponent with lies. Even if it did turn out that Joe Biden had sexually assaulted exactly one woman less than Trump, he's still objectively the lesser of two evils at the very least.

Ah nice one this opens the door to a repeat of 2008 Global Financial Crisis event, will take a few years for this to stagnate enough to become an issue but baked in crisis to the US financial system if it continues.

    Very cool Joe!

What is your understanding of the phrase 'sub prime mortgage'?

The credit score system in the US is an unholy mess, chronically unfair, barely regulated and very untransparent. If you're unfortunate enough to be servicing expensive medical debt (another story in and of itself) and fall behind, it's effectively redlining you against mortgage prospects.

The credit scoring companies also bump up your credit score significantly if you're a profligate yahoo who uses multiple credit cards day to day and rolling over debt. In a lot of instances you'll bizzarely be rated with a higher score than someone who balances their incomings and outgoings and only ocassionally uses a credit card. It has proven to be a poor predictor of behaviour and if soemone will default on a large loan like a mortgage.

And yes, at the risk of triggering the anti-wokeists, it's incredibly biased against racial minorities who are more likely to exist in the cash economy and get stung by medical debt due to the jobs they hold - and significantly impacts their chances of home ownership.

We should thank our lucky stars (or be thankful we have regulation) we don't operate this financial scarlet letter to the same extent as the US does.

I won't comment too much on the Biden plans simply because I haven't read them in detail, but I'm satisfied to say the credit score system as operated in the US is bullsh*t.

Thats the key here. Just because someone has a good credit score it does not mean they are wealthy. I am sure some are but many would not be and instead are just simply people who are good at managing their money and living within their means. So this hair brained scheme by Biden would be punishing those people who have good credit scores but are not wealthy.

In the US living within your means and being good at managing your money won't necessarily result in a good credit score. To have a good credit score you have to have and regularly use lines of credit. Using credit cards to make purchases, but then paying them off in full every month will help your credit a little. But not nearly as much as carrying at least some balance on your cards from month to month. Of course if you carry too much balance on them, even if you never get behind on your payments, that will count against you. They give the best scores to people who engage in their system, but not TOO well. And of course being rich also helps, though certainly isn't a guarantee.

Not to take things too far off topic , but the whole Credit Score system in the US is specifically designed to get people into debt and to make money for the lenders.

Like you say , you can't actually build a good credit score without taking on debt and paying interest to lenders.

If for example, I decide to put a bit of money aside each week to save up to buy a TV and wait until I can buy it for cash, I would have a worse credit score than the next person who just walks in on impulse buys and takes out a loan for the TV instead.

Just madness and like most things in the US , specifically designed to help big business make money off the backs of regular people.

US economy adds 253,000 jobs in April, above expectations of 180,000.

The unemployment rate fell from 3.5% to 3.4%, and now stands at a 50-year low.

Well in todays economy most people use credit cards a lot whether wealthy or not. Your statement about using credit cards and paying off every month as opposed to carrying a balance is incorrect in my personal experience. I am regularly in the US and use credit cards a lot and always pay my balance and have a close to perfect credit score. Bottom line though is you do not have to be wealthy to have excellent credit scores and so Biden is punishing people who are not wealthy who manage their finances well.

This morning, we got some good news from the jobs report. We added 250,000 jobs last month. That’s on top of the 12 million jobs we’ve already had since we came in office a little over two years ago.

Unemployment rate is at 3.4%, which is the lowest in 50 years. Black employment has hit a record low, and the really good news is working age Americans are participating in the labor force with the highest rate in 15 years, not just since the pandemic, in 15 years.

And the working age women are participating at the highest rate in 75 years. Inflation is now down 40% since last summer. It’s come down the last nine months in a row. We obviously have more work to do, but we’re trending in the right direction. And I think we’re making real progress.

Unfortunately, our, I won’t say Republican because I think they’re not, they’re pretty well divided, but MAGA Republicans in Congress are threatening to undo all this progress by letting us, quote, “default on the debt” unless we agree to their demands. The two are totally unrelated.

Whether you pay the debt or not, doesn’t have a damn thing to do with what your budget is, what your budget is. Where are you going to spend money? How are you going to raise the money? What are you going to cut? Where are you going? That’s, they’re two separate issues. Two, let’s get it straight. We’re trying to hold the debt hostage to us to agree to some draconian cuts, magnificently difficult and damaging cuts.

Gosh with all the chatter about Hunter Biden last week* I didn't expect this monday to be so slow and dead for the anti-Biden channels

They're running with 'how dare the WH not give him the Person Woman Man Camera TV test for my own insane peace of mind'

    *

Cruz had gone on the same sympathetic news channel to imply Biden should be impeached over the contents of a document he has never seen.

Misinformation. The Pandemic caused the loss of jobs. Biden is trying to take credit for job rates returning to pre-pandemic levels.

Misinformation. The Pandemic caused the loss of jobs.

The POTUS is credited with the jobs report under their tenure. This was also the standard under Obama, irregardless of whether or not job losses occurred as a Result of a Bush Era Economic Disaster. No ink was spared in scorching Obama for his first few years of net job losses.

What you see in those tweets is mere snivelry from the right. They lambasted Obama on the economy, GDP, and Jobs, and when Trump did worse on all 3 of those metrics, "wah but the pandemic [that Trump said he very much had under control and will just go away by summer]"

    image.png

As a result of empty wall street stock-buyback economics and a pandemic he had no idea what he was doing with, Trump left office with 3 million fewer jobs than when he started. Even after accounting for the post-lockdown rebound in 2020.

Slow Biden Week continues with this very real post from my Congressman yelling like a crazy person that Biden is 'coming for my dishwasher' soon.

    image.png

Which is a lot like implying Energy Star Certification adoption (an EPA program) meant the Maytag man kicked down your door and took your old, inefficient dishwasher from you and left you a hole in the wall until you went out and bought a new one from the DOE.

Hide your kids, hide your wife, hide your dishwasher and stove, 87k armed IRS agents are going to shoot in your door and take your appliances everyone.

    It's a Template response now.

    Everything is

" They are coming for your Guns/Religion/Dishwashers/Cars/Light Bulbs/Gas Stoves/Schools/Bathrooms/something, Grab your pitchforks and torches!!!"

Not a single suggestion of alternative actions other than to say "Leave our X Alone!!"

Rep. James Comer Reveals a 'Suspicious Network' of LLC's the Biden Family Used to 'Enrich Themselves'

"The committee is concerned by the complicated, suspicious network of over 20 companies we have identified the Bidens and their associates used to enrich themselves...The bank records show the Biden family...received over $10M from foreign nationals"
