Any chance that you could change the poll to reflect triple captain options.
    Eg
    Salah
    Salah TC
    Bruno
    Bruno TC
    Ect

In previous seasons I'd have already settled on Soucek as TC with Werner as vice! :)

Probably won't be doing that sadly. KdB assuming I bring him in, unlikely to play any chip including TC

    90% certain on Mo TC

Currently on KDB (C), Salah (VC)

Won't be using the TC this week.

Debating on using Sterling TC to atone for his horror show midweek.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 276 ✭✭505_

Leaning towards Salah. The Pep talk of KDB being too tired to take a penalty fairly concerning. Obviously it's Pep so hard to ever read in to what he says. But there's got to be a chance KDB doesn't start both games whereas Salah almost certainly will.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,528 ✭✭✭✭dsmythy

    Tempted by Cancelo.

But will go Salah. However single captain.

    Maybe...

Might save triple captain for a random double game week for a team with a player where it all just fits.

I would be going for KDB except for this very reason. Concerned he might be rested in one of the games. Liverpool are very unlikely to rest Salah, with Jota out and Origi out of form. Ox could play there, but I don't see it happening.

Cancelo. City not giving up many chances so I think two games should be a good chance to get at least one clean if not two!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,059 ✭✭✭Brian201888

Considering Soucek just because they get their games done by Tuesday so unlikely to have any issues with games being cancelled

Would really worry about Walker sneaking a start in one of the games enough to make me not want to captain Cancelo

Salah TC....who's with me so we can form a preemptive support group?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,878 ✭✭✭Pogue eile

Cancelo at the minute, they look nailed for two CS, he is a BP magnet and has been desperately unlcuky not to get attacking returns in the last few games. Pep seems to see him as the pivotal player in the set up (out side of KDB that is)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,083 ✭✭✭Chesty08

It’s probably worth considering with CL, Fa Cup & other factors... there might not be a better time to triple captain a player with 2 home games & guaranteed to play (barring injury)!!

Yea Spurs will have a double game or 2 so I think Kane will be a safer bet.

But Spurs are playing a game of score one goal and sit back and defend deep for the rest of the game. It limits the potential of multiple goals.

Fair point. Grealish is another option though, he has the ability to get double digit points in 1 gw nevermind 2.

On KDB currently but may switch to Vardy

Sterling triple captain for me but love the way Foden is playing and reminds me of the summer time.

    Vardy v Salah for me.

On one hand Vardy delivers more consistently lately albeit with 5 pointers but still, in DGW will add up. He also had good few double digit hauls and Leicester do magically keep winning penalties.

On the other hand should Liverpool score they ll want to score more as they rarely park the bus, so Salah could be relentless. If only he didnt have such bad form over last 3 games :S

    Decisions decisions...

Well if that is the logic then surely a West Ham player is the obvious choice, having the undoubted easiest fixtures?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 134 ✭✭Rodgeb

Strongly considering TC Cancelo. Also have Dias and Stones so the potential upside is huge .... Am I nuts????

West ham players have been doing great!
I have had Cresswell and soucek since day 1.
I am giving Cresswell some serious thought actually

    I've captained Cresswell

I was all set on TC'ing KDB. I'm now leaning towards Salah. KDB better fixtures but I just think Salah is more explosive even though KDB is coming into form. Such a hard one to call.

Really tough one. Not a standout TC for me though so going to save that until later on in season. Currently KDB but not a bullish shout. City have the potential to steamroll a team at home sometime soon, maybe Palace will be that team. Think the Villa game is tougher though. Giving Cancelo the armband is tempting if he was guaranteed to start both. How he hasn't scored or assisted in the last few is astonishing. Don't think I'll have to bottle to give him the armband though - I'll see how I feel closer to 11!

Any thoughts on captaining Foden? Don’t have Kdb and don’t fancy Bruno or Salah this gw.

Is there not a very real chance of at least one of the villa games getting canceled again?

Foden is very boom or bust. There has typically not been a reliable trend between him getting to start games even when he has played well in the last game.

He was been great against Chelsea and Brighton, but if I was asked to do a coin flip bet I would be saying that the odds of him starting both games are a little bit lower than 50%.

I think you should captain Salah. I can’t imagine they haven’t been busting a gut since that Southampton to make sure to be back to their best in time for this United game.

They haven’t actually lost a home league game since Salah joined the club, so while that West Brom blank stings fresh in the mind, he had 29 points from his last 3 home games before that.

Rather than isolate it to a couple of games, a better statistic might be that he has 58 points from 7 home games this season.

Overall, he has actually done similarly well away also, but I still think 2 home games is the perfect opportunity for him to get back firing again, so I think De Bruyne is the only legitimate rival to him for the armband this week.

With 2 hours to go to deadline, I’m leaning towards Salah.

I wouldn’t say it is that much more real, relative to the other games this week. The training ground opens today, and you wouldn’t anticipate them letting anyone into it now who wasn’t confirmed as negative following the rigorous controls that will have been put in place following the outbreak.

    I thought it opens tomorrow?

You might be right, but I’d literally just watched one of those nutter hosts on Talksport on a rant about how the game wasn’t going ahead despite Villa being able to open the training ground from today.

Either way, I think the protocols will be strong when reentering, so I don’t think we’re at heightened risk of recurrence. That hasn’t been the case at Newcastle, City or Fulham yet when they reopened so I guess that’s enough to trust the process until presented with new information.

    Triple captain Salah.

    In Mo we trust....

I am predicting he gets a controversial VAR peno v Man Utd, then Burnley at home could be anything
