Only issue is that YT is very much a mobile used app so it's watched on the go a lot. Be hard to do the household thing.

Got same email, so, for arguments sake, let's say I'm in India with work, I'd still be using a revolut. How can they differ as to where the card is registered?

Anyone have family in India....? Asking for a friend.

I worked in finance for 15 years, the card networks will be requiring and passing cardholder country of registration with the payment. So you cannot for instance move to india for a year and use your irish card as an indian card. You can still use your card, but as an Irish one, so each transaction in India would be a foreign one not a domestic one for your card.

For the last few years I've used Three mobile credit to pay for a YouTube family account? With the monthly €20 top-up no longer covering the new higher cost, does anyone know if it'll allow me to buy a cheaper EU plan using the credit from an Irish SIM? Alternative is to top up by €30 a month I suppose.

That's not what I meant. Lets say you and I and 4 others are in a family and I have been paying premium. It then lapses and I don't renew. What happens if you then buy premium family, are we all automatically covered or is it only the family owner can buy it?

Anyone know how to check who's in your YouTube premium family ? It's been so long since I set it up I can't even remember who is in or out.

If the worst comes to the worst (my people come first) I might have to round them up to pay something towards a more costly plan.

I think it's only the family manager who is able to share YouTube premium. I don't think you're able to change premium manager either

Sorry I get you now yeah it's only the family manager can share Google products, our manager shares you tube and Google one with the family

I use brave all the time, luckily my Argentina premium is still working so I'll leave it alone, the in built Ad blocker is very good.

Dang - received the same email, have Premium a while now via Argentina. Will see what happens, might just have to bite the bullet and go back to Spotify.

Had Netflix also up until last year via Turkey, only one left now is Prime via my Turkish friends.

You can still get Netflix via the Turkish codes on turgame. Not as cheap as it used to be but still cheaper than Netflix IE.

Got the mail last month(Arg sub) so created new virtual card with revolut, added as back up payment and payment went through yesterday. We'll see how long it lasts.

I have been using Brave for YouTube since the start of September when my Premium ended following the "We believe that the sign-up country of Argentina was inaccurate" notification.

With the Brave desktop browser, YouTube behaves much like Premium apart from ad banners on the main YouTube page. To date I only recall it letting through 3 video ads at the start of the video and not a single mid-roll ad. Roughly once or twice a week I get an issue where a video shows a buffering black screen for about 15-30 seconds, presumably where a non-skipable ad would have been. When this happens, press the F5 key (refresh) and the video starts playing instantly.

I don't watch YouTube often on my mobile, but with the videos I have watched on the Brave Android App I don't recall it letting a single ad through. The only small issue I have is I find it fiddly getting YouTube to go full screen on mobile.

For music I've been using Spotify through GamsGo since September. I had to pay for the year upfront and they set up a Spotify account which requires using the credentials they provide, so if you have an existing Spotify account you will need to transfer your playlists.

I wouldnt recommend Gamsgo. Was using them for Netflix - paid 6 months in upfront and account got nuked with one month remaining. Waited 3 weeks (at their request) only to be told no go. Only got a refund on the remaining week. Their guarantees are worthless. Others who only started their subs got burnt.

My Argentina sub is due to renewal on the 29th of this month but got the email. I have set up everything needed for the Turkey/ Apple method but haven't purchased premium yet. I'm wondering would it be best to let the sub expire before using the voucher method or could i just go ahead and purchase now even though it has time left in Argentina? What have people done who have time left on their sub????

Payment went through a few days ago with no issue despite getting the “issue processing” last month so thought I was grand again but got the email yesterday saying I need to have the Indian payment method - 5 years to the month since I signed up.

Anyone tried disputing it as an unreasonable requirement to have a local card nowadays?

Will try adding a virtual card etc - YouTube premium is vital between my own use everyday and the kids using it but I won’t pay the extortionate Irish prices. I did spot the student sub though which is somewhat reasonable at 8 euro a month. Anyone know the requirements for this? I have a student email address “for life” is this enough to sign up?

Let it expire then cancel then start a new premium subscription through the Apple method.

If you cancel your current subscription it will run until it expires.

If you start a new one today it will start today regardless of any existing subscription days left.
