How do you get the 48 mobile for 8 per month? Is that still available?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,152 ✭✭✭ciano1

Nope. It was at one point though and it was posted as a bargain alert on here at the time. Been on it ever since 😁

I’m having this issue lately it’s looking for my card security number and I have to put it in every time. Although this time when I enter it just leaves me in a loading page which eventually times out. Anyone know why this happening or a workaround? (Indian Youtube Family)

This happened to me. Eventually it fully stopped working and I had to move to Turkey.

I think it is something to do with new credit card laws in India. I'm not sure if there is anything you can do while yours is still working to stay with India?

    HI

does this VPN thing still work? We have used VPN for Argentina but we only have the option to try for 3 months for an individual plan - no option for a family plan....do we sign up for an individual trial account first or how should we go about it? Thanks

EDIT : we are also asked for a ''CPF'' number...think this is some kind of tax thing? We chose argentina because the VPN software NORDVPN we have doesnt have india..

Turkey and India are cheaper than Argentina now since they increased the price by a lot there. VPN should work for Argentina still though, when I set mine up all I needed was an address, they did ask for a number but there was a next button that worked without it.

There should be blue text between the big buy now button and ad-free image to expand the different tiers.

India seems impossible to get set up though, with the new VPN logging laws and the RBI subscription mandate, my cards don't even get to the verification stage, just get declined immediately.

GetFlix have two Indian VPNs still btw.

Also looking to join a YouTube family plan if anyone has a space available.

Promise I'll be the responsible cousin who pays on time and never have to worry about.

Just got an email from Revolut saying that I am getting a new Irish IBAN and that I will need to update payment information. So I will need to update my India YT Family sub which I predict will cause problems!

Your card number is not changing. Just your Iban. Did you sign up using an Iban?

They mean wages or bills (direct debit). Payments with your card won't be affected.

No I pay using the virtual Mastercard. Thanks for the clarification I was imagining the kids in my face if they had to start watching ads again 😱

Thanks for the reply, panic averted!

Hi, thanks OP, I am not really clued in with tech etc..

I managed to sign up to YOUTUBE premium through VPN (argentina).

When I try to add family members, it says on my child's email ''we can't add you to family group as you seem to be in another country, please try again''

how do I add my family members to my YOUTUBE account? Do I need them to log in each them through a VPN?

Sorry, not up-to date, so apologies for silly questions!

As per the original post, you need to setup your family first before you try to sign up.

Seems to be different for some people, I signed up to the family plan via Argentina with a vpn and then invited people to join the family and they had no problems joining, no vpn needed

Time is contagious, everybody's getting old.

Same thing happened to me. It has to do with the countries where your family has their google account vs your google account, i made up new emails for the family members that were having issues for this and i passed on the details, they logged in with with those accounts and presto! Everything has been working.

Ps. My family members are actually abroad!

I was able to go from Argentina to turkey via windscribe vpn. There’s also a student account price. So I able to use my old university login to get YouTube premium student for 98 cents a month.

So I'm only after noticing today that my YT Turkey has increased from 25.99TL a month to 59.99TL🙈

I know last year when I set this up that there was an annual plan, which I assume is cheaper that paying monthly.

But there doesn't seem to be an option to switch to an annual plan when I go to 'Manage Menbership'

Does anyone know if that annual plan option still exists and if so how so I switch to it?

    Thanks

Would love to join a family plan also if anyone setting gone up!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,004 ✭✭✭Johnny Storm

Apparently, there is no annual family plan. There is an annual plan for individuals.

Time to put childish things aside.

I never get ads on YouTube unless someone signs out of my account, I've been using this free browser extension for ever!

I don't know what the benefits/differences are of between using this free extension or going the VPN route?

I don't think so, it's a chrome browser extension. I do have it on my Android phone too but never tried looking for it on a smart TV, I'd usually just cast from my phone to the TV.
