Valleymount GAA, every time I see that Aquatic centre I just see a massive mouse

At first I thought it looked like a blue whale & thought it was very fitting.

Right so after storming into a 4-0 win, the aquatic centre was pegged back to 4-4 making it a draw. I can see from the answers given that the first two for the London Aquatic Centre gave no reason while all the votes for Valleymount did.

So with that all said, Valleymount advances

Tbh I couldn't think of anything to say really. Its a swimming pool. Not much else going on :pac:

02 arena - its unusual and iconic, and James Bond didn't slide down the roof at Monza

Yeah, O2 Arena. Not into F1 so I don't get the lustre of these tracks tbh

Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. One of the oldest purpose built racing circuits in the world, home to every Italian Grand Prix except one since the F1 championship started in 1950. Also one of the fastest circuits on the calendar. But what really makes it so special are the scenes when the Tifosi invade the track at the end of the race, especially if Ferrari have won. Also one of my nominations, in case you hadn't guessed. :)

    O2 Arena London

There's only one F1 track I like, and this is not it!

O2, one of my noms and very iconic.

    O2 Arena.

Valleymount was my other small-but-scenic GAA nomination, but I'm not entirely sure it should have beaten the Aquatic Centre, which is something different (a relative rarity in the big venues). So consider this an apology vote in a contest I'm not too pushed about.

With a comprehensive scoreline of 7-1, O2 Arena advances

    Hm.

I like the darts, but I guess if we're talking about an ultimate sporting venue, the Burj Al Arab helipad is a good call. It deserves to go through a round or two, even if it's only a temporary venue. I'll vote for it.

    Burj Al Arab Helipad

    Citywest is meh

Burj Al Arab Helipad looks class, and scary
That's all i need to give it my vote

  • Registered Users Posts: 38,023 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Ill go with Citywest Convention Centre because i nominated it. Its grand but very blant in the main foyer

No doubt the Tennis place looks impressive but looks frightening

If I had known this was going to be the standard of nominations I'd have nominated me back garden - it has a basketball hoop.

    Abstain.

  • Registered Users, Subscribers Posts: 47,284 ✭✭✭✭Zaph

It's not a proper sporting venue as such, but it's much more impressive than City West, so I'll go for Burj Al Arab Helipad.

  • Registered Users Posts: 32,956 ✭✭✭✭Omackeral

As unusual as it is, Burj Al Arab Helipad advances

Gotta go for MCG here, absolutely class venue

Again, scenic as Eamonn Byrne Park is (and I've been there), it's not a major sporting venue in any sense of the word.
