Anybody now of a gunsmith out Dun Laoghaire side of city , I believe that one exists but does not advertise his services. My fore-end on my SXS won’t attach . It will click in place off the action but not full assembly . I was taking out my snap caps earlier and one was stuck behind ejector , eventually got it out but now can’t reassemble gun. Was working fine St Stephen’s day when assembled. Have flushed it with WD40 . Thanks Nick

A sticky post listing various repair shops / gunsmiths, would be a useful thing imho.

    Thanks,

    G.

If i knew who done what i would do one up. But like the post above yours no one seems keen to publish information instead preferring to send it privately.

For info - I PM'd the details as the gunsmith in question is semi-retired & does not want his details published all over boards. Whilst there are probably many individuals who are competent at gun repairs, I would say the number of people in Ireland who have completed a gunsmithing apprenticeship (which used to be 7 years) are few & far between.
