Congratulations a pass is a pass, I can’t offer any advice on stage 3 as I’ve just completed stage 2, you’ve given me some hope when I thought there was none. I made a bit of a bags of it.

Out of the 2 locations I picked I have received only one result. Anyone else waiting on a location result? Mayo is the one I'm waiting on.

Hi folks, received stage 2 results yesterday too, it was such a long wait. Like some other people here I have only received OOM for one of my County choices, Westmeath. Has anybody got an OOM for longford yet? I've just emailed PAS so I'll update here once I get a response.

I am expecting to hear by Friday.. basing that on the previous batch of interviews who seemed to get their results a week later.

They seemed to put us through the ringer in the interview so the results will be interesting

PAS have confirmed they will be out by the end of this month. Friday seeming most likely. Good luck!

Hi i was first batch of Regionals

PAS replied to my email and have said that they have called up to OOM 8 for Longford. Further OOMs will be called for Longford as the competition progresses. My oom for longford was in the early 20's so makes sense now.

Thanks for looking into that. Just wondering does that mean if you didn't make the cut off in your counties that you would not have got any result?

  • Registered Users Posts: 8 minime21

No, because if that was the case then I would not have received any OOM for Longford at all.
I was called to Stage 2 in May for my second county which must have called candidates with a higher oom than Longford did.

Hi - for those that have completed stage 3 interview - is the presentation and research paper marked in similar standing as the competencies?
Not sure if it okay to divulge that information, no worries if not!

Hi - for those that have completed stage 3 interview - is the presentation and research paper marked in similar standing as the competencies?
Not sure if it okay to divulge that information, no worries if not!

They are marked along each competency but with greater value awarded to the competencies evaluated during the interview. The marking is as follows:

Presentation (Qualifying Score: 16/ Max Score: 40)
Interview (Qualifying Score: 24/ Max Score: 60)

    Those marks/requirements are per competency.

These are the competencies being examined:
    Team Leadership
    Judgement, Analysis & Decision-Making
    Management & Delivery of Results
    Interpersonal & Communication Skills
    Specialist Knowledge, Expertise & Self-Development
Drive & Commitment to Public Service Values

So between the presentation and the interview you have the possibility of scoring up to 100 points per competency and a maximum value of 600 points overall.

Hi all. Wondering can anyone help me with a query regarding panels. I just got placed on panel 1.2 for Dublin in mid 20's. Dublin was my 2nd choice. What would be my chances if I wait for my 1st choice which is Offaly.

Thanks a million for sharing this breakdown - the presentation is adding a good chunk to the overall score then.

Hi all. Wondering can anyone help me with a query regarding panels. I just got placed on panel 1.2 for Dublin in mid 20's. Dublin was my 2nd choice. What would be my chances if I wait for my 1st choice which is Offaly.

Maybe email PAS and ask how far up the OOM they went for Offaly after Stage 1. Might give an indication of how long you would have to wait. Also maybe say where you are on the Dublin panel. Judging by the this thread they provide detailed answers.

There is a Boards. Ie thread for the last inter departmental HEO so there could be some indication how many they took from Offaly then.

Generally from what I heard smaller counties don't tend to get much spots. But there is the Financial Shared Services in Tullamore which will probably get bigger over the next few years as they provide their services to more departments.
