I only realised it now because I was slow on the uptake. livefpl.net has a 'transfer planner' section where you can create an account for free.

Plus you can plan all your transfers and gameweeks in advance. It gives you a fixtures chart and everything for each player.
Fecking great so it is. I don't see how people would need much else.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

    It's a relatively new feature

Plenty of time till the gameweek and the Covid situation is getting worse in the UK, could easily see games called off and you'd have burned the chip for nothing

I’ve been caught out being a bit too impulsive with transfers so far this season, so I might just hold off for a little while before hitting the button in case. I think the only benefit in playing it early is if chasing value anyway or if on the limit to getting the team you want. I think I have enough flexibility in terms of value but will keep an eye on it over the coming week(s) approaching the deadline.

    See the post above yours.

I know the team returns to normal after the draft.
What I’m not sure of is if you transfer a player out with value built up in them and then get them back in within the free hit gw (before the gw 18 deadline)

I’ve been done with that on a wildcard before. Tinkering and getting rid of someone then deciding I want him back in and have to pay the current price.

I wouldn’t be sure about two United attackers away to Burnley. Can you get Sterling instead of Rashford? Arsenal are playing well, play home to Palace and you have no Arsenal attacker.

Cheers, it could be smart to do grealish to saka and Rashford to sterling.

Could you conceivably make a transfer today (such as bring Saka in before his price rise) and then decide whether to free hit next week or not.

If you do Free Hit you have saved yourself 0.1m from bringing him in next week and if you don't FT, well the same applies, he is just in your team. I guess the only downside is if you wanted him in your team longterm cause you will have to buy him back after the FH GW at the inflated price.

I used my fh in an idiotic move earlier in the season so I’m left with a dilemma now. I’ll have 7 players to play in the bgw as it stands now. Would I be better off maybe taking a hit to get that to 9 players and then wildcarding before the dgw or wild carding now with an eye on city united villa and Burnley players with a few shoe ins like salah and son and using the bench boost on the dgw. Not sure which way to approach this next couple of weeks.

No, because he’ll just be part of your free hit team then and won’t be there next week.

Once you activate free hit, the squad you’re at becomes your free hit squad, including any transfers already made.

Yes i know that. What i'm saying is that if i wait till next week to bring him in on a FH he will cost me more. Whereas if i make the transfer now and then FH next week, i get him cheaper. If i don't FH he is in my team proper, which is fine with me too.

Yeah Arsenal have looked really good the past few games, and priced like a bottom 6 team. I'll definitely have one of their cheap defenders (Mori or Leno) and cheap attackers (Rowe, Saka) in my FH team. BAsically allows you the budget to go big on City assets.

I can field 6 players for the blank week.

    Stones
    Cancello
    Son
    Fernandes

    Plus two transfers

    Probably

    Watkin
    Rashford.

Should I save the free hit? Seems like there could be better opportunity to use.

In the same boat and I’m free hitting, 6-8 players will not do especially as one or two of them could be ruled out any minute

I’m in pretty much the exact same situation as you. I used the free hit stupidly earlier in the season. I think that the wildcard would be better used in GW19. I think next week could be a bit of a **** week anyway and I’d be afraid if I used the wildcard now I’ll end up with a team that is a bit of a mix and set up for neither 18 or 19 really! I’m thinking I’ll take my chances next week and hope the players I do have do enough. Then go all out for 19!
Like 7/8 players that include Fernandes, Kane etc will match a lot of teams of 11. Captain pick will be crucial for us!

I made 2 transfers for a -4 and now have 10 players for the BGW, gonna free hit for the DGW right after, and then WC after that. Makes more sense to free hit for the DGW.

    Hi,
    current team is:

    Martinez Macey
    Mee Cresswell Dias Justin Dallas
    Salah Son Bruno KDB Burke
    Wilson DCL Adams

After having a think about it, I think with taking a -8 and a -4 I can cover the next 2 gameweeks without using chips. Plan is to take out Justin, Burke and Adams and put in AWB, Saka and Brewster.

    That would leave me with:
    Martinez
    Mee Dias AWB
    Son Bruno KDB Saka
    DCL Wilson Brewster

    for gameweek 18.

Soucek and Bamford in for Saka and DCL for gameweek 19.

    That would leave me with:
    Martinez
    Cresswell Dias AWB Dallas (Mee)
    Son Bruno KDB Soucek Salah
    Bamford (Wilson, Brewster)

Would be happy enough with that squad for gameweek 20 too. Not enjoying owning Adams at the moment and Burke is an injury doubt. Not happy with Brewster but don't see anyone in his price range who would play. Any advice would be appreciated!

Honestly Brewster is so bad, I would be tempted (if you decide to go that way) to just get Kelvin Davis in at 4.3m. He has come off the bench in the last few games, so may well match Brewsters customary 1 point - and that third striker slot at 4.5m is will be last on your bench

As bad as Brewster is, he still gets a decent amount of game time and should score eventually. Davis on the other hand gets very little game time.

As a fully paid up member of the Davis club he has been injured for most of the season.

Brewster might keep getting game time, he might well score - it is very very unlikely it is the week you are playing him.

Not sure about that - fairly sure he's been in at least half of the squads and play some cup games as well.

To be fair as third on my bench I rarely check him. He was injured for a bit of the season anyways.

I have also been calling him Kelvin Davis instead of Keinan for year, so why trust me :D

this sounds to me that you're wasting your free hit in Gw19.

who will you be freehitting in 19 that you won't want in 20 onwards?

Wildcarding in 19 would set a team up well for the DGW and the foreseeable future.

without knowing team value, something like this should be getable

    Martinez/Sanchez-cheapest playing keeper

    Dallas-Robbo-Stones-Cancelo-Coufal

    Salah-Bruno-Son-Soucek-Grealish (or 4.5 fodder)

    Kane-Bamford-
    Brewster/Davis/Fodder.

I think something like the above would see you okay for the double and weeks following it, unless you're going for serious differentials with a GW20 Wildcard.

Will defo have to think about it. I want KDB though.

KDB in the Son spot would be easiest on that rough draft or Downgrade Kane and upgrade the 4th MF slot to KDB.

I'd be thinking the free hit would be better used in another double game week towards the end of the season.

or maybe blank GW29, no idea how they'll shape up though.

what does your team look like now?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 34,562 ✭✭✭✭CSF

Davis wouldn’t even start games if Watkins was injured. He is truly awful and carries no goal threat.

His only lure is if you want someone that is cheaper than the other guy that’s never gonna see your team anyway.

Although personally I would advise having a 3rd sub who is reliable for a point or 2 when called upon even if it costs that extra .1 or 2

Boris is meant to be announcing National Lockdown tonight so probably best to wait to see if PL is affected if you haven't used your chips yet

Just a warning to anyone tinkering with their FH draft for gw 18. If you have a player with value built up (eg Son, Kane, Grealish) and transfer them out while tinkering (and confirm transfers) then want to get them back in (in your gw 18 free hit team - FYI I know they will return at gw 19) you pay their current price, not the price you purchased them at.

I'm not sure if I'm stating the obvious but thought it might be good to know if you're someone who will be tinkering alot with their team with FH activated.

    Latest draft for FH 18:

    Darlow

    Cancelo, Tierney, Dias

    KDB, Son, Bruno, Rashford, Saka,

    Kane, Wilson

    Subs: Clark, Mitchell, Brewster

Reasonably strong bench for some cover. Not many have Rashford from the drafts i've seen so happy to go with him as a differential.

I drafted the same free hit team earlier today but I had to go for Holding over Tierney. You must have a decent team value
