Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Hogg was protesting any suggestion of a penalty try, don't think he was debating the yellow.

Lancaster I don’t think is a good head coach, Cullen is clearly able to handle that role. I’m not sure if Farrell was ever a great number 2 but it’s very clear he’s no head coach. Lancasters HC record isn’t great either but he was a bit unlucky so who knows. Good number 2s can’t always step up to being the boss man
Cullen isnt near being a national head coach.

Thats unfair and its clear he is being asked to do it as part of the attacking structure.

There's no way that's not a deliberate knock on from Taylor.
Yeah had to be yellow. back to 3 points down. hopefully can get properly into game with scots down to 10 for rest of the half

That was great play in the build up to that pen. We look really good once we get momentum and play wide-wide; saw glimpses of it against Georgia with the disallowed McCloskey try

Hopefully that phase before the card gives Ireland a bit of confidence especially now there's 14 men to play against.

No way can that be a penalty try, harsh yellow even.

It is a yellow, a clear 4-2 overlap in Ireland's favour if that ball goes wide. Yes no PT but a clear try scoring oppertunity so yes a yellow card.

Never a penalty try, we'd have fucked up a 4 on 1 somehow :pac:

15 v 14 for the remainder of the half. Will say a lot about Ireland now whether we can capitalise on this or not.

Stockdale’s done well the last couple of possessions

I would imagine the IRFU will give Farrell the 6N. If we tank there he’ll be gone. With Eng and Fra coming to Dublin there must be a very real chance we could lose 4 of the games if we keep playing like this. Rome no gimme either in this form. We are septic

Murray should have been there regardless but it's terrible rucking from the pack to leave the ball exposed at the back. Youths error.

Murray took the box kick. It was seconds after Henshaw collected the kick that the ruck formed. The ruck should have been secured to Murray a chance to get there.

    Doris carrying really strongly

    The ruck is a mess

Second man is being allowed hands on all the time

Should have given Scotland a penalty on their 5m. Ireland would have knocked on and conceded a penalty in the scrum.

Lovely offload from Keenan earlier in that play. Been one of our bright spots since the return of test rugby.

    And Doris.

Doris made three excellent carries in about five phases there.

But yet again we didn't protect the ball at the ruck and almost got turned over.

    I reckon Healy is done.

We are in danger of turnover at every ruck. Not like they are mad isolated runs. Half of them are Doris making a heap of yards in the tackle..

Yeah, no idea why Murray is copping the flack. Scrumhalves don't make every single ruck in the game.

Earls rucking in the past ten mins has been ferocious, he's flying into them.

Henshaw has been very good today for me

There's nothing wrong with one out runners when your carriers are making good yards and the ruck ball is quick.

Scrum 6 or 7 metres out ... get Doris picking and going ffs

Yep totally gone. Getting stopped dead or driven back in contact.

Think he folded at that scrum too.

How can he call back the penalty? The ball was clean out at the base of the Irish side of the ruck.

That makes no sense to me there - why is the ref making a decision for the advantaged team ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 448 ✭✭eastie17

Hope Farrell is writing his resignation letter there

    Ref: "penalty advantage"

    Ireland: crash ball

Ireland's attack is bleach on the eyes, no guile whatsoever. Pure drudgery.

Even the pre rehearsed moves are just complicated for the sake of being complicated. They don't actually create or exploit any gaps.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,211 ✭✭✭✭Clegg

Absolute mess of a lineout drive there. We haven't gotten that right at all this series.

Scotland have always been incredibly cynical good to see this ref is on them.

    Try for me.

    Did someone call it.

He seemed to suggest he called it back because Scotland had turned over, but the ball was clearly available, it looked like he just wanted to call the advantage.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

We were dull in an attacking sense under Joe but at least there was structure and a plan that they bailed for the most part.

This is torturous. Boring while also having no idea what they’re doing

Great work by Henshaw to get to that through 2 defenders and lively by Earls to get it down.

Amazing what you can do with a pen advantage!

    Henderson probably gone

Very lucky to score the try there

Has Henshaw trimmed down a bit? Seems to have gained a bit of pace anyhow, he was sluggish enough there a couple of years ago. Giving it socks today, great to see

Great! We probably dont deserve it but we'll take it!

On a side note but what in the name of f**k was that maul? Is anything done in training about mauls? So easy to defend.
