Looking at that, they are all games I have played before (technically one is three games I've completed before). (Add to that, first game I played on gamepass this year was Skyrim, which i had completed three times on PC and twice o PlayStation (incl a platinum)) I should play more new games...

One I'm still playing in 2022 (kingdoms of Amalur) and one I was playing in 2020 (Demos Souls')

I'm not sure how Sony managed to get away with that considering the outrage when Remedy announced that the PS5 version of Control would not be free. The fact that offering a free upgrade is the norm now should make them look especially bad but they've somehow come out unscathed. Also, I didn't know EA Play was included in Gamepass?! Me to Sony right now:

I see people posting in here saying I'm going to buy this game game or that game and give it a go.

I load up the Game Pass app and I'd say a good chunk of the time the game is available there.

I don't even have an Xbox anymore but Game Pass has the potential to save the customer a fortune on games.

**** gta online, didn't realise i had that much clocked up this year. Same with Nba 2K, they really designed it so you spend more time in game by making it needlessly big and therefore able to up the ad price when they show them user playtime. Quite proud of my 3, 4 & 5 though.

Ubisoft Plus is coming there as well. I have so many Ubisoft games and, without checking, I think only EA, Activision and Bethesda come close - all of these now exclusively on the X Box! A year ago I would have recommended PS5 over Series X any day. I don't regret buying the PS5 as I still enjoy many Playstation features like the great exclusives and the trophy system etc. However, there is no doubt, now with Microsoft acquiring these heavy hitters while offering a bargain experience, that the Series X is absolutely the better choice for those on the fence. And this isn't even the endgame for Microsoft. You just know they want to bring Gamepass to more platforms that can reach a wider audience of people. Sony needs to come up with something big, fast. They've always just about had the edge but I think it's gonna be different this time. I mean, Call of Duty for goodness sake. It's a best seller year after year. Even people who don't really play games have dabbled in a COD match or two. Even people who don't like Call of Duty play it lol. I don't see how Sony competes with that.

Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition - 59 hours

Unfortunately, I don't have a 2021 wrap up. I read somewhere that apparently it's because I've opted out of marketing and have disabled Sony collecting "additional data" in my settings. The PS5 allows you to see hours played on your games list anyway (although it's not always accurate).

I bet most of them were a bunch of quickies with multiple region stacks and auto pops. There's a whole community for £1.00 trashy indie games where you can get the plat in about 10 minutes and/or without even finishing the game. That's how they keep their scores up on the leaderboards as well. It's got to the point where on PSN profiles there are endless heated (and friggin' hilarious) debates about how the leaderboard should be based on rarity rather than the tier type of trophies gained.
