Williams acting Team Principal won't be there as he's tested positive for Covid 19

Good track, probably one of tilke's best. Shame turn 8 will probably be easy flat.

Interesting that they have DRS around turn 11. I thought DRS couldnt be used for that, which is why there's no DRS coming up to the bus stop in Spa?

Also, I hope Lewis wraps up the title this weekend, then we can have a few good races without it being mentioned and the mercs wont have any team orders as all is won.

    This happened in Turkey.

    Not Vettels finest.
That year really should have been Mark Webbers WDC to win.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Just tuned in for last few mins of FP1. Track has no grip at all. Looks like they're driving on ice.

Is that the reason FP1 times are om all over the place? The top 10 are covered by 6 seconds. Was it poor grip or broken running so nobody got a few laps together or what?

Just saw the last few mins so not really sure what the story with the times is. But everyone was struggling. Saw a couple of spins in the few mins I watched. Turn 8 nowhere near flat. Hadn't realised the track was resurfaced about 2 weeks ago.

Looks like they were all having fun something that obviously did not interest Hamilton as he did not do any time at all.

That was one of the more interesting FP sessions . nothing bad happened just so many laps put in and decent mix up on the time sheets .

Redbull look pretty on point , Ferrari weren't to bad either . Mercedes took a lot of time to come up the time sheet and even with it been just an FP session , Alpha Tauri again that car just seems to work at every track .

Renault , Mclaren , Racing point all looked a little bit lost , so the battle for third in the constructor's is going to interesting if Qualifying was to follow on form this FP session

    1 Max Verstappen 1:28.330
    2 Charles Leclerc +0.401
    3 Valtteri Bottas +0.575
    4 Lewis Hamilton +0.850
    5 Alexander Albon +1.033
    6 Daniil Kvyat +1.359
    7 Pierre Gasly +1.614
    8 Sebastian Vettel +1.692
    9 Lance Stroll +1.967
    10 Lando Norris +2.577
    11 Sergio Perez +2.774
    12 Esteban Ocon +3.050
    13 Antonio Giovinazzi +3.163
    14 Carlos Sainz +3.168
    15 Daniel Ricciardo +3.330
    16 Kimi Räikkönen +3.602
    17 George Russell +3.972
    18 Romain Grosjean +4.240
    19 Kevin Magnussen +4.477
    20 Nicholas Latifi +5.158

Hamilton was criticizing the decision to resurface the track. Called it terrifying, and lacking grip. Said it was like an ice-rink which would explain the bizarre times and spins.

Pirelli have admitted they weren't made aware, or it wasn't clear enough the track was being resurfaced in time, so the harder compounds are the tyres the drivers have available. They would have gone for softer for more grip if they had of fully known. Apparently they said this year has been more difficult to align and get this sort of information. Which I think sounds mad!

    Basically they said this:
So it was a decision we have to accept, basically, it's done. So there is very little we can do. But the result is this one, basically very little grip.

So I'd expect a bit of a chaotic race!

EDIT: Should had during this time of year the weather/temperature won't help either! Fairly certain rain is forecast for the entire weekend.

I would say the Turkish track owners were looking at the other races and how boring most of them were and thinking we need to do something to have on exciting race on our track and maybe race of the season. I know let's resurface it that should make it exciting lol.
