It's not really though. Non believers and believers use the name all the time, every day when they hurt themselves, when they see something amazing etc...

Though shall not take the name of your lord in vain. You are not supposed to use the name of your saviour as a cusp word.

The end times are coming and the persecution and execution of Christians is only beginning. We are in the beginning of sorrows.

Did Christ tell people to be racist and homophobic? Seious question, wasnt he all about the good samaratan parable about not juding strangers? And the only thing about gay people that Jesus ever said was the general love thy neighbour. He never said love thy neighbour, unless hes black or gay etc.

As regards having to go out and preach, Im not sure this was the way that was meant to be done

The bible specifically says homosexuality is a sin. I don't think anyone can honestly argue otherwise.

Where did Jesus say it though? Chapter and verse would be great

What about the racism cause he was doing that too.

The thread title is wrong because he wasn't arrested for singing and preeching or preaching of Jesus but spreading hate speech

As the bible was given to us by God through the holy spirit working within people and both the old and new testament referred to it as sin, then homosexual behaviour is not what God wants in his creation. It is a sin and those engaging in it must turn to God to break them free from that spirit working in them.

Is the gospel hate speech now in this upside down world?

Obviously not when you see people like you defending homophobic & racist speeches that lasted for hours.

I heard the homophobic speak he was accused of was him qouting from the book of corinthians.

So.....Jesus never actually said anything about homosexuality, no? As in there are four books of the new testament called the gospels that deal directly with Jesus' life and times, and he gets more coversge in the New Testament than anyone else.

Youd think then that if he had any views on homosexuality at all he wouldve aired them, no?

Again, re racism, Ive cited the parable of the good Samaritan (Luke 10:25, by the way) as evidence that Jesus was against racism.

So I dont see how what this guy was saying is in any way due to Christ's direction

The Bible was not given to us by God. There were five or six versions of Genesis floating about at one time or other, different political powers decided what went to print. Why is our version called the King James Bible? Do you think there was no influence to suit the narrative of the day? And how many influences did the previous renditions go through?

First they came for the socialists...

If its his right for him to preach homophobia through a megaphone is it then also ok for a lad to stand in front of his face reading out the script to a gay porn with a megaphone ?

    Master of the Universe

then homosexual behaviour is not what God wants in his creation.

Someone should probably tell that to the penguins, giraffes and many other creatures in 'creation' who exhibit such behaviour.

A street preecher would not be phased by that. The person shouting gay porn into his face definetly needs to hear the gospel

But he wouldn’t be reading the gay porn were it not for the preacher.

The preacher’s actions, in this example, have actually turned people away from the word of god. Seems counterproductive.

It would be great if you could at least spell preacher correctly

It's a persons own heart that turns them away not the preacher.

Ide say its the other way round. A good dose of porn for the preacher lad taken with a bit of quality alone time might calm his need to scream angrily from street corners

Though shall not take the name of your lord in vain. You are not supposed to use the name of your saviour as a cusp word.

You're also not supposed to endanger the lives of others and encourage others to do so.
You're also not supposed to lie.
You're also not supposed to support people who do so and break other commandments such as committing adultery.
But somehow its O.K. to do all of the above and more going by your posts.

The book of corinthians, the Sun, Mein Kampf, doesn't matter what rag he was quoting, it's hateful and unpleasant. Glad he got put back in his box.

Quoting Corinthians is very offensive to Sao Paulo fans

He's an absolute tosser. I had a few words with him a while back.

Rest assured, he wasn't arrested for preaching

"If you want to be perfect, go, sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven."

    or other such wholesome messages.

Of course he wasn't. As quoted in the article in the OP:
The court heard a local shop owner had on October 7th called gardaí, complaining the noise prevented her from hearing or talking to customers as the man sang and spoke “about redemption and religion”.

He could have been reciting the alphabet and he was still going to be arrested. It has nothing to do with what he was shouting, and all to do with the fact that he was doing it through a loudspeaker at a volume that was clearly anti-social. As such, the title of this thread is essentially clickbait/fake news/disingenuous/a downright lie. Delete as appropriate.

How can christians excercise there beliefs privately when they have been asked by Christ to go out and preech the Gospel?

I don't see any issue with religious people having a little stall and giving out leaflets, or singing religious songs (we see this every Christmas :) ) or even preaching at an acceptable volume. However I do not think that people like him, or buskers, should be allowed to use speakers and amplifiers whatsoever.

In this instance though it sounds like he has long been excessively loud and perhaps abusive too.

I do agree people should be respectful.

However everyone is different in what they would find insulting or not.

Is this kinda of street preeching respectful in your view?

Buskers have where and what they can do regulated in most cities now and preachers should get the same opportunity and space much like speakers corner in Hyde Park London
Then as long as they don't break noise or harassment laws they can do what they like
