    Tiaan falcon.

Missed all of super rugby 2019 with a blown achilles....which should have been his break through year, after 3 chiefs caps in 2018. Only made one appearance for the chiefs in 2020 and is off to Japan now.

I'd forgotten about him. The other 10 was Perofeta who is going alright with the 'Naki and the Blues.

I guess Rennie wants to build his team from the ground up, but yes it could get ugly.

On the ABs side, Asafo Aumua and Cullen Grace are also debuting off the bench. Aumua is also an excitement machine, think Laumape as a hooker (the Canes/Wellington tend to produce a lot of attacking hookers, Tyrone Thompson is another coming through). Grace is a workhorse, wasn't overly impressed by him but obviously his metrics are good. So could be a rusty game from both sides.

Here's hoping it's a good watch, Suncorp is a great ground for Rugby (of either code).

Fascinated with Rennies selections and all these debuts.
Was curious to see age profile and where are they getting all these players from.

This is 4th game and he will blood his 8th and 9th Test debutants.
& all the Debutants have been v NZ!
Whats even more impressive he's given 7 debuts in the starting XV!!

I compared it to what Farrell has been doing.
5 six nations games and capped 6 players in Kelleher, Dorris, Connors, Keenan, Ed Byrne & Park.
Lowe will be the 7th. Shane Daly 8th and burns the 9th
So far 3 debuts given in the starting XV.

    Queensland No.8 Harry Wilson 20 / Caelen Dorris 22
    QLD back-rower Fraser McReight 21 / Will Connors 24
    NSW back-row Lachie Swinton 23 / -
Brumbies winger Tom Wright 23 / Hugo Keenan 24
Fiji Filipo Daugunu 25 / NZ Lowe 28
    Samoa/NZ QLD 12 Hunter Paisami 22 / FB Daly 23
    NZ NSW 12 Irae Simone 25 / -
    NZ/Aus QLD 10 Noah Lolesio 20 / Eng Burns 26
    QLD 9 Tate McDermott 22 / NZ Park 28
    Hooker - / Ronan Kelleher 22
    Prop - / Ed Byrne 27

    Average age Australia 22.3
    Average age Ireland 24.1

It will be interesting to see how these players develop and if they make it into a RWC 23 selection in 3 years.

The Australian 8’s tackle on Barrett was awful, fell off him.

Who is the Australian blind side? Monster tackler.

    Lachlan Swinton... He's fecking huge

    That’ll be a card

Ah jaysus a red maybe a bit harsh. Not fully sure of the intricacies but was he not at least attempting to wrap?

Australia just drop too many balls

    Doesn't matter

Shoulder direct to the head, no mitigation

    In general it’s been excellent
Repelled 13 phases after scoring. Hitting hard.
    Good spacing.
    Kick chase looks organised.

Liking the fight shown from Slipper

Yeah your right. Still feel reds should be reserved for really bad stuff. Rugby moreso than any other sport a red card is the death knell. Rugby leagues system of putting players on report and yellow carding them could be looked at. Or even a gaa style black card. For now it is what it is and the right call

TJ doesn't have the same control of tempo that Aaron has

His tackle stat and name just came up after I asked. He’s an absolute unit!

The Australia hooker is an incredibly poor player. He was shocking last week and isn’t a whole lot better today

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Poor choice from TJ, would have had a lineout from further up.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,571 ✭✭✭CMcsporty

He’s a bleeding hooker playing on the wing!!

    This is great stuff

Absolutely loves hanging on the wing too.

We all screamed blue murder when cane did the same thing in Henshaw in 2016.

I agree that reds have a very significant impact but the head is sacrosanct.

Feel bad for akira... His debut ruined because of ofa

Still a lot of basic enough errors but for such a young Aussie side the application is far better this week. The errors can be ironed out

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

How in the name of god has cane gotten away with that intercept? Morphing into McCaw

That's surely a red for Australia too.

Swinton never drops at all there

That will be red as well

He’s not invisible, they choose not to call it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭Bridge93

That is daft. All well and good being a hard man and hitting big but you have to be disciplined

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

Swinton hit a counter ruck there but the two Kiwis were just flopped on it, completely sealing off.

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,744 ✭✭✭✭bilston

Imagine getting sent off 34 minutes into your test debut...painful

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,300 ✭✭✭✭razorblunt

That’s a red. Classic right hand tucked, may as well have been in his pocket.

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,920 ✭✭✭✭stephen_n

Two red cards in the first 40 minutes, this could end up being a game of league.

    Like that Swinton fella.
Should be a good option at 6 for years

Hope Australia stay in the fight.
