I honestly fear at just how weak people are being trained to be these days. No resilience for times like this, and no doubt more things to come in the future.

BBC recently featured the Dadaab refugee camp in Kenya..225,000 refugees from war and environmental horror in neighbouring Somalia. The camp was basically poles with plastic thrown over them..in a desert where temps are frequently in 40s ..even 50 !
Yet thousands of them -particularly women strove through school with paper and biros and have graduated on into university in great numbers. No SUVs to school, no disrespect to teachers, no sense of pampered entitlement. Utterly inspiring to see.
The youth of the West are spineless wimps by comparison.

Could be like some of those people who showed up here having got their credentials from a printer in Lagos.

You would be very surprised at how many medical staff, doctors, nurses, Irish or otherwise are pretty clueless regarding stomas. In the online support groups I'm in it is a big topic. Mention "end ileostomy" in your medical history and many doctors look puzzled at this standard medical term for a "permanent non-loop ileostomy" that. As for differentiating from a colostomy from an ileostomy even my my seems to struggle with the understanding. My GI surgeon always joked with me and says "we should have you in giving the lot of them a lecture... you are actually right, a lot go to sleep during parts of the gastro-enterology modules and forget them after graduation if it's not their area of interest".

This is what happens when the pubs are closed...the rest of Ireland has to listen to this lad's problems. Usually just be the barman and two or three other barflys listening to this dross.

How about this then sir, since you only spend 30 euro a year, just buy a tenner credit every 120 days? Works out the same no?
