Joe dropped the ireland questions when it became apparent that Nixon jr is intelligent to know that the west is generally superior. Not your average yank.

The NFL is the same, an hour game that goes on for 3 hours
Baseball games can go on for 4 easily just as well they serve beer! But I enjoy them went to matches in Toronto, florida, new york, LA, boston and a few more.

The most fun sport I saw when in the states was a normal non american football match with LA Galaxy, it was great! They had a celebrity football match at half time lol. Michael Sheen is a surprisingly excellent footballer!

Not been to an NFL match maybe next time!

    A death.
    About time.

Everything they do is hilariously complicated, same with their sports.

    It isn't complicated at all.

    100 - Senators
435 - members of the house of representative
    3 - for the Washington D.C Area

giving a total of 538. Thats where the 270 to win comes from

The number of electors that each state are distributed proportionally, according to the states population.

Thats why states like California and Texas carry the higher amounts of electoral college votes

What's the argument in favour of the electoral college system? Genuine question.

Nixon's grandson seems like an alright guy!

I'd come at it from the opposite angle.

    Whats wrong with the system?

The sole thing I know about it is that the number of electoral college votes to be won can be proportionally higher than the amount of votes in that state ? So like a state has 4% of the population but if u win that one u get 6% of the electoral votes? I cud be wrong there but it seems flawed? There must be some reason for it tho

The votes in the electoral are not divided proportionally . In most states the winner takes all. That’s why the candidate who gets the most votes does not necessarily win the election, as happened when Trump was elected in 2016.

    I didnt mean that.

What I meant was, lets take california as an example.

California is worth 55 electoral votes. Whoever wins California takes all of these 55.

What I mean was that California is awarded 55 seats in rough proportion to its percentage of americas total population

California's population will be roughly equivalent to 55\538 od america's population probably not exactly but roughly.

Districts are probably redrawn egvery so often

It should be proportional to the population but in some cases it probably wont be.
I cant say I know all the states but from my limited understanding the number of electoral college votes should be proportional to each states population.

I read somewhere recently the smaller, older states have a disproportionate share of the electoral college votes.
A historical relic that needs to be addressed.
