Jesus Mardles psycho babble is tiresome to listen to. Delivered with such gravitas every time.

HE JUST NEEDS TO GET ANGRY

He's now saying suljovic is playing defensive darts. What the **** does that mean haha it makes objectively no sense.

    I like Mardle, he's funny.
Himself and Part work well together when they're on...

Agree. Brings enthusiasm to it where Part is more analytical.

Don't get the hate for Mardle tbh, he's a very knowledgable guy too.

The fist /elbow touch at the end could be interesting. Reckon Anderson would love to plant him one

Bye Bye. Don't let the door hit you on the arse on the way out.

Mardle is beyond awful as a commentator, regardless of who's on with him

There's definitely sense within the waffle but sometimes I find myself having listened to him talk for several minutes without making any actual sense at all.

Perfect example in the last game, comparing suljovics play to parking the bus in soccer. That doesn't make any sense at all and he's just talking for talkings sake.

Delighted for Ando. That wink to the camera was a sign of a man knowing he was gonna push through.

The only reason he got the Sky gig was because he used to swing a few inflatable palm trees around when walking to the stage. He won nothing of note in the PDC, got into the Premier League on a few occasions when he didn't deserve to but because he might put a few extra bums on seats ala Barney. Even after all his exuberance when coming onto the stage, he was moping after a set or two when things weren't going his way.

I don't like the guy, he talks a load of rubbish but hey, more power to him.

Christ Dolan and Durrant still to come tonight

Lets hope both are beaten, horrible boring styles

Was thinking that looking at the lineup.

He was number 5 in the World and reached 4 World semi finals.

A lot of players from that era where Taylor dominated never won a tournament.

He did drop the head a lot on stage when things were going against him alright.

Thought Anderson had no chance when he went 3-2 down.

Did well to dig himself out from there.
It is ridiculous a player of his experience can be gotten to like that but I think Mensur gets under his skin more than anyone else.

Will need to step it up to progress much further.

    Pleasantly surprised by Dolan here
    Throwing with a nice rhythm

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,622 ✭✭✭ThebitterLemon

Unlucky there Dolan, playing very nicely.

Being the underdog and playing a top player seems to be bringing out the best in him

To me, reaching no.5 in the world and reaching 4 world semi finals is irrelevant. It really is all about winning when you take money out of the equation.

Of course Taylor had a big impact but would Mardle have been that much more successful had Taylor not existed? I don't think so. Also, alot of players of that era did win tournaments who i would consider of an equal reputation to Mardle at that time. Part, Lloyd, Scholten, Manley for example. For sure they didn't win too many though.

Dolan on fire. Well not literally coz there’d be a lot of black smoke. :)

But he’s playing really really well

    Price gets the reverse 180 - 9 scored:D

Dolan playing really well here, very composed.

Yeah, was very critical of his style earlier but he seems to have speed it up a bit

Can't see him holding on to win it

That 170 from Price will turn out to be the turning point of this match. Dolan playing well but Price dog it out.
