    Great finish there under pressure
    Darts needs more Dirks :)

Followed up a single 20 with 2 treble 19s three times and then took out the 99 with Cross sitting on 12.

Unbelievable 12 dart leg under that pressure.
If he tightens up a bit he is capable of winning this. Either way he is going to be a top 5 player within 18 months.

Bit of a travesty that these two meet in a second round match when you see some of the other dross knocking about!

Cross yet again out early, flash in the pan

Would love to see DVD win it

Good interview here with Dirk, any struggling dart thrower could take note about how he turned his career around

    His matchplay win says otherwise.

He has been inconsistent but he no flash in the pan.

He was unlucky to get such a tough draw. He'd have annihilated a lot of other players who were in r2

Those T19's served Dirk van Duijvenbode well

Was just coming on to say the same thing. Some top notch t19 hitting. Something very likable about him even though he does give it socks like MvG and Price. Just does it a bit tastefully perhaps.

Think he will be the guy to follow for the rest of the tournie.

    Rubbish. (your post, not Cross)

I'm not a fan of Rob Cross, but he's comfortably a top 10 player.

Dimitri looking very very good. He can give MvG a game if they both proceed through the next few rounds

If Cross had won the final leg, then Diving Board would have been eliminated having lost just 9 legs (he'd won his first two sets 3-0)
Doesn't seem right, when in any other big event you have to lose 10 legs. Worlds should be a considerably longer format than other events really.

Today is a decent old card.
Anderson, Bunting, Suljovic, Chisnall, Aspinall, Smith.

I know there was some rejigging for covid, but it's a huge contrast with last Sundays dross cards.

7 perfect darts , loses leg , poor razma

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,563 ✭✭✭✭peteeeed

then 6 perfect darts but wins the set :)

  • Registered Users Posts: 37,973 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Bunting looks like someone about to burst into laughter when he's throwing

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,713 ✭✭✭Dillonb3

Was hoping Edgar would cause an upset but just couldn't break Suljovic's throw even when he left a finish

  • Registered Users Posts: 37,973 ✭✭✭✭PTH2009

Gary Anderson has some very good scores

I'm a big fan of Jason Lowe, his game against Michael Smith should be a cracker. He'll hardly win but I couldn't resist a small bet @ 5/1

Laura Turner: "There are no easy games at the world championships"

She obviously hasn't seen any of the games so far where lads averaged in the 70s!

Waites getting better, usually has a wobble in him, be interesting to see if he can hold it together

Nice to see that bit of respect from The Asp. Super comeback but Waites is impressive too. Hope it goes all the way.

Waites bad at double 10's and 4's compared to the D16's
