Regardless, they won't go to small claims, they will return the deposit.

Did you manage to get the correct on the road price for your application? Thinking of putting in a HP application with s 15k deposit over 3 years.

I haven't - it looks vaguely correct (there's at least one figure there which if you subtract the SEAI grant, it goes to 38600ish), but when I rang FinanceIreland they said they are waiting for Tesla to send them the exact invoice and that's apparently when the figures will be final - they also said that typically will happen just a day before delivery/collection. Sounds strange, but I've never bought a new car before, so all new to me.

Next to start reading up on wall chargers, installation guys, solar panels, smart meters, electricity plans, battery pack, inverters… I wish there was a "best buy" keypost (like in askaboutmoney.com) with all combo considered, X panels + Y inverter + Z charger will make a good setup for M3 etc… or is there?

you don’t need a good set up guide specifically for the model 3, you may have a different car next. Get a good set up for your home. Are you on Facebook? There’s a solar Ireland page.

    Or there’s a renewables section here - https://www.boards.ie/categories/renewable-energies?utm_source=sidebar_categories

Was reading on a FB group that tesla don't apply the grant when it's bought through pcp or hp. Don't see why the grant wouldn't apply?

    It does apply.
Its just the site glitch for HP or PCP but on final invoice it’s actually there.

Tesla say that FI have to update the system.
FI say that Tesla have to send them the exact figures.
Customer caught in the middle. But it will be sorted for final collection.

Looks good. No front number plate really suits the look of the car. Of course if it was here there'd be lads calling the owner a low life and the worst insult possible an odds on rotr breaker😁

    Order placed on: 11th July
FI approved: Same day - although, I am not clear what exactly they have approved.
Says Total cost of the vehicle is 42227.78, and if you take away the SEAI grant, it comes close to 38727, which is somewhere around the Tesla listed price of 38,607.
Trade-in details submitted by 12th July.
    Delivery schedule: 18th July - 2nd August.

Spent the whole weekend looking at solar, panels, orientation, inverters, micro string, hybrid, batteries, dc/ac coupling, nmc, lpf, powerwall3, load-shifting, SoC, DoD, load clipping, surge pricing, EV chargers, smart/dumb/commando.. my brain is melting. Recent quote from friendly local solar guy looks like crayon squiggles compared to what I am seeing online. And almost every useful video is from UK and they are all waxing lyrical about Octopus Energy Flux/Agile etc. I guess it's time to dive deeper into Renewable Energies area of boards… This car has lead me down an absolute wormhole and serious analysis paralysis territory…!!

I've booked a test drive next week. Does anyone know if it's accompanied by a staff member? I've never driven an electric car before let alone one with no physical buttons.

…and many many "must have" accessories videos. My AliExpress basket is filling up fast. Even kids have started commenting on my new obsession. Two weeks agon it was Ooni ('it would have much nicer on the wallet if I had bought one and stayed buzzy making pizzas and not looking at cars) :D

They explain the car and the controls and then let you get on with it for 30 mins or so.
They also allow you to take it for longer periods of times (overnight etc) if you speak to them and book in advance etc which I did. I took it for a weekday night to get a feel of the commute (if you have ever sat in the evening north-bound M50 traffic, the traffic aware cruise-control is worth it's weight in gold).

Be warned though, once you take it home and if you have kids and if let them see it, you will have no choice but to buy it.

I have just received the SEAI grant questionnaire from Tesla. Amongst other details, it's asking if I am trading in a vehicle with Tesla. And if so, the trade-in car details.

I haven't got a trade-in offer from Tesla yet, so how can I be sure if I am trading in with them or not? Does it matter to SEAI if I leave it empty or say "not trading-in"?

PS: Also got a text saying order has been matched with a vehicle, but no VIN in the app yet.

Did you have to send much in terms of bank statements etc before finance was approved?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,461 ✭✭✭positron

Finance Ireland had a bunch of different document that they request - basically proof of identity (passport/driving licence) , proof of address (utility bill etc) and proof of PPS number (to which I gave my salary slip). They didn't ask for anything else.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,461 ✭✭✭positron

Just realised I have a VIN in my booking invoice. It's been there since day 1 (last week when I ordered). Must be because I ordered from pre-configured inventory?

Anyone know which vessel, where/when etc? Delivery between 18th July and 2Nd August.

Still no word on trade-in valuation either.

Possibly Toreador …arrives Zeebrugge tonight at 11pm. Cars would then need to get from Zeebrugge to Ireland but most likely a good bet if you haven't been offered a firm collection appointment but do have a VIN. Sit tight you will hear from Tesla in a few days.

I noticed a VIN pop into mine recently too... Still estimate dates 30th July to 14th Aug... Probably because we have pick up set for Cork ?
