I've been told by someone already in the civil service that there are loads of positions, I'm also not far off and he thinks I'll be called in a couple of weeks ☺️

I’m in the early 30s and I’ve received nothing from PAS. Quite worrying if they’re stating that they’re at 41/2...

Have you contacted them? I emailed this morning asking how the panel is moving and they responded letting me know how many are ahead of me. Hopefully you hear something soon

They said there were less than 5 people ahead of me, but if they’ve said they’re on 41/2 then that means they’re almost 10 after me.

    That's very strange

Which email did you use? It takes 2-3 days for them to issue a response when I contact them.

    I used clearance@publicjobs.ie

When do you find out what Dept. you're being assigned to? Is it when clearance is commenced?

I sent a mail to PAS earlier and they just responded. They didn't tell me the number just how many were ahead of me so based on that they're still in the early 30's.

That's what the did for me which is why I think they're early 40s... Makes it difficult to know where we are when they're not consistent

I have the exact number they’ve reached in a response from today. Early 30s. There could be gaps in the OOM if individuals have accepted positions from the specialist panels—if you accept an AO position then you’re withdrawn from any other AO panel that you may be on.

Yeah, that must be the case as everyone seems to be getting different info. I’d imagine that’s why they tell you how many people are ahead in the queue rather than providing a number from the OOM. At least it seems to be moving reasonably quickly.

Yes I'd say you're right as I was given this information this morning as well so I just know how many are ahead of me which is why I assumed what OOM they had reached.

Once my clearance was finished I got a message through publicjobs.ie advising of the dept

    Who did you email?

    Who did you email?

clearance@publicjobs.ie ... It's the email that was on the message telling me I had passed the interview and to use it if I had any questions about the panel.

I contacted the clearance email as well. Weird, they told me this week that there are more people ahead of me than there were when I contacted them last week. Bit confusing.

They're currently at no.21 on the Health panel

Just wondering, did you contact them again to let them know about the difference in replies?

I began clearance around 20th last month and having completed that I was assigned my dept . My request to stay in my existing dept was approved .

I didn’t, no. Figured I’d just let it play out as it isn’t a big number ahead of me either way.

Hi folks, not sure where to post this. I am also applying for an Administrative Officer position. How far back do you need to go in the education section? I finished secondary school like 17 years ago. Do they need that info? Or just recent college, certifications etc.

Anybody know of any movement on the general stream?

3rd Level and higher qualifications- zero interest in what you got for your leaving cert (obviously you passed it if you've got 3rd level qualifications).

Note: they do often request degree transcripts- official transcripts- so keep it in mind.

You're spot on, they won't have any interest in leaving cert results. But you don't have to have a leaving anymore to have third level qualifications! I know three people with no leaving and first class honours degrees.

I’ve been called for clearance, low 30s on 1.3. I’ve been told that after clearance the HR in the Dept. I’ve been assigned to will be in touch with me. Should I anticipate that this process will take longer than a month?

From posts on this thread it seems like the speed of clearance is completely based upon the reply time of your references... So if your references are on the ball then it should only take a couple of weeks I would assume

I hoping it’s quick enough, just afraid that I’ll be given a very distant start date when it gets to onboarding. I’ve already alerted my references to the fact that PAS will be in contact, so hopefully they respond quickly.

They’ve called as far as 39 in the OOM general stream judging by the response they gave me this morning.
