Is social distancing a huge restriction for businesses? It's not an overly-onerous restriction for the individual, but it is a huge restriction for all sorts of businesses.

And I didn't say the measures were ok. I said they were bearable. They were certainly inconvenient, but having to show a cert almost every where you go, wear a mask everywhere apart from outdoors, and social distancing for businesses are far more onerous.

Couple of things. If you feel like you're not politically represented, that's not a failure of democracy. You are free to run in politics if you want. Eg parties like Aontu and Renua formed, they struggle to get votes. They seem to represent some of your views. The fact they don't get elected is not a failure of democracy, they simply don't represent the views of the public. If there was a huge silent vote, they're free to express their views at the polls. There simply isn't a market for parties that are pro life, anti gay, bit racist etc. (Not saying that you are any of those but that's very much so what the GOP caters to)

Secondly, please name the journalist. Was it David Quinn or something? 😂

Basically you want a definitive sign of when certain measures will go away when we're in a very changeable scenario. Eg at the moment there's a fair chance that plenty of measures will disappear as the year progresses.

Also you claim the US is a more functional democracy. I listed numerous ways in which they actively limit it. Gerrymandering, preventing legal voters from voting with restrictive id requirements. Queues to vote that literally take hours for no explicable reason. Do you think the cited issues are healthy in a democracy? Your dream democracy regularly tries to prevent members of the public from exercising their democratic rights.

So we are back focusing on other countries. Maybe you could get a sticky as to when we are only allowed to talk about Ireland, and when you have run aground on your Ireland nonsense that other countries are included. Seeing this is an Irish website, maybe 4 days a week we should only be allowed to talk about Ireland, and the other 3 for the rest of the world? Why is working from home not a massive problem for businesses in city centres who rely on other people working in offices for their own businesses survival? Why making people queue 2m apart whilst waiting for their skinny frappe latte chino a bigger problem than them having no customers because they are all working from home?

Why is one a "restriction" and one a "measure"? They are both part of the exact same policy which was to reduce contact and interaction between people when transmission of a new virus was out of control and misunderstood.

Why do you class those two things differently in your understanding of the line all restrictions are permanent?

There's a pandemic. People are showing things like vaccine passes so that they can e.g. get on planes and not infect everyone on the plane. This is basic common sense. Like wearing a mask.

Paranoid people live in a fantasy world where they endlessly think "1984" is just about to happen, and they perceive that everything and anything is a "clue" to this. What's the difference between you and these paranoid people? I don't see any so far..

Already happened in March 2020 when the army were setting up emergency tents on the quays in Dublin etc. People really thought the army were coming in to implement martial law while we were all at home and couldn't travel more than 2k.

Get the 5G masts up while we're stuck in the house, facial recognition.

Yeah I remember seeing some of a 5Gemma livestream where she was manically running around the quays screeching into the camera about how the army were on the way in from the Curragh to take over. Calling for people to all gather to fight them etc.
