I presume Sam went to mark Sagan over going out and out for the win.

No chance for Sam there. Seemed to start far to back but at least he has a jersey

First time in over 30 years, since an Irish man has worn the Green Jersey.
    That's some achievement.

Great to get the green jersey after 31 years.

Why was Bennett sprinting on the hoods?

On the hoods at the end of the stage, and sprinted on the hoods for the intermediate sprints today and yesterday. Someone needs to tell him that's VERBOTEN.

Van art had no team either , it's becoming a habit for Sam following the wrong wheels .
Needs to get a bit of luck to time one to perfection.

Looked like the fastest man in the overhead but started too far back

Well Morkov did a great job getting second place at the intermediate sprint. And Sam has said before that sometimes he doesn't like to have a lead-out train.

Between him and VdP you'd wonder if it'll be a route more will try. I imagine it does wonders for handling skills at a young age

In a day with no break, Wout Poels got the combativity award!

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,331 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

    From cyclingnews
There has been a delay to the podium ceremony. France TV reports that Alaphilippe may be at risk of receiving a time penalty that would lift Adam Yates above him and into yellow.

Never really a dull day at the Tour ...if the cycling is dull there is always some controversy to deal with

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,561 ✭✭✭Eamonnator

I see Sam had the matching bibs ready for the green jersey.
    No pressure There!

Apparently it's the first leader jersey worn by an Irishman since Kelly last wore green too
