Hope this stage has abit of a shake up soon...maybe the wind ??

    Well done Sam!

He's only the virtual leader in the points classification so hopefully he can get the actual jersey later on. If he won the stage that would be absolutely amazing!

That commentator with Kelly is seriously preoccupied with beards.

Carlton? He,d prattle on about any thing and have a good chuckle to himself while confusing half the viewers

I think this is a good stage for Sam to target, he will feel pressure as he hasn't won yet but if there is no late breakaway he will beat Ewan this time

He's fairly annoying. Gone over to ITV4. TG4 looks great in HD, but even though I'm trying to, I just can't understand the language

    Points available at the finish

    Place|Points
    1st|50
    2nd|30
    3rd|20
    4th|18
    5th|16
    6th|14
    7th|12
    8th|10
    9th|8
    10th|7
    11th|6
    12th|5
    13th|4
    14th|3
    15th|2

As long as Sam finishes top-5 ish, and Sagan/Kristoff doesn't win, he should get the green jersey

slightly uphill should favour Sam, I'd say.

I think from Sam's perspective, it'd be much better if there was the usual small breakaway that would be caught with 10 km to go. The way it is now is making me feel on edge! Someone is going to crash or there'll be echelons of something!

If there are echelons, Quickstep are masters at taking advantage of that.
    Unfortunately, so are Bora.

A win today would put him in a serious place fo the jersey...

350 points should win it this year...

Sam is on 103 right now on the road... 50 points for win and 30 for second...

What Bernie Eisel didn't show is a roundabout about 250-300m before the finish. It's a mess.

No chance for Sam there. Seemed to start far to back but at least he has a jersey

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,014 ✭✭✭Mefistofelino

Why was Bennett sprinting on the hoods?

I presume Sam went to mark Sagan over going out and out for the win.

First time in over 30 years, since an Irish man has worn the Green Jersey.
    That's some achievement.

Great to get the green jersey after 31 years.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,996 ✭✭✭Plastik

Why was Bennett sprinting on the hoods?

On the hoods at the end of the stage, and sprinted on the hoods for the intermediate sprints today and yesterday. Someone needs to tell him that's VERBOTEN.

Great also that he si taking the Green from Sagan....one of the best riders ever ...that makes it more prestigious

Van art had no team either , it's becoming a habit for Sam following the wrong wheels .
Needs to get a bit of luck to time one to perfection.

Looked like the fastest man in the overhead but started too far back

Well Morkov did a great job getting second place at the intermediate sprint. And Sam has said before that sometimes he doesn't like to have a lead-out train.

In a day with no break, Wout Poels got the combativity award!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,524 ✭✭✭✭dastardly00

    From cyclingnews
There has been a delay to the podium ceremony. France TV reports that Alaphilippe may be at risk of receiving a time penalty that would lift Adam Yates above him and into yellow.

TG4 lads saying it now, Yates in yellow, JA penalised 5 20s for an illegal feed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,014 ✭✭✭Mefistofelino

20 second penalty puts JA down to 16th place
