What centrefire target shooting is popular?

    Looking to get back into target shooting, particularly something like the NRA F-Class, Open or Target Rifle, but the longer the range the better.

    Is there a group doing that currently?

    Is there anything like NRA High Power Service Rifle or HIgh Power Sporting Rifle competition?

    What is THE most popular rifle target shooting?

    Not really, afaik, as it's mostly shot across the waters (either direction). We do have a PRS form of shooting which is outlined in this thread.

    In the Country? Probably Gallery rifle. However if you're referring to long range stuff then it was F-Class, but PRS and sporting matches are dominating the scene now. They're more fun and can be shot with anything from a full custom to an off the shelf hunter.

    Not sure what you're previous history with shooting is but this thread and this thread outline the differences in F-Class and other disciplines of the "true" long range stuff.

    As for PRS check out the thread i linked to above, and for sporting rifle you can contact the Midlands range and they'll inform you of the various comps and shoots coming up.
