Man, fúck cancer, and colon cancer particularly. That's an insanely young age to die from anything, let alone that bloody illness. His best years were definitely ahead of him. Rip.

    Very sad news.

    Absolutely shocking and heartbreaking.

To think he only started acting in 2008-2009 and got his big break in 2013. So even with such a short career and life look at the legacy he's left behind.

    Wakanda forever :(

    Wow crazy horrible news

To think he was battling the disease while making his biggest films and no one knew is insane

    RIP Chadwick

I think the family kept it private, but he continued to work so people must have known. I don't know procedures and treatments are involved but filming schedules would be massively impacted by any time off Boseman would have need. Plus he was in Korea filming Black Panther and in Thailand for the Da 5 Bloods and all over the world promoting Black Panther.

I think directors and producers and worked around what he needed.

    Feige and Cooler definitely knew.

The amazing thing is he was still working up until now. Black Panther was an amazing character

    Rip

Can't believe his role as James Brown hasn't been mentioned. A phenomenal actor. Dreadful news

I was thinking Feige and Cogler must have known and with him looking healthy and still being active with Da 5 Bloods that every one must have expected a recover.

I'm sure he would have had a physical for the MCU role so Feige would have known.

Probably a bit insensitive to be talking about that topic at this time. Not just you, I can't quote multiple posts.

That's very sad. Such a horrible thing to get but when it's on your back passage that is just absolutely terrible.
    Not old at all.
    RIP Chadwick Boseman.

You seemed like one of the good ones
Should have had longer in this life.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

I only heard news about his passing on Channel 4's F1 highlights this evening. I had shed a few tears for him when I heard about it.

    May he RIP.

Way to young to die, kept his battle with Cancer private. This is a nice tribute to Chadwick...

    way too young.

very impressive how he did a number of demanding shoots whilst also dealing with this cancer and the treatment (I hope that it didn't lessen his chances tho)

wouldn't be a fan of Black Panther but R.I.P

Boseman would have told Feige and Cogler before the medical.

It is a testament to how much belief people had in him that they didn’t move on to another actor.

    No it won’t.

Cogler and Feige will have discussed recasting T’Challa or passing the suit to another character like the sister.

The Black Panther series will continue.

It is not “insensitive” to discuss it as it is highly unlikely that a member of the family is reading the thread.

We only knew the man through his movies and his interviews so that is how we discuss him.

He's not even buried yet and you're already talking about who plays his part next, it's insensitive and ignorant no matter what little excuse you make to yourself to justify it.
Anyone with a bit of caring in them at all would be discussing his life and contributions etc.

Leave what's next for another day, nothing to do with family, it's to do with being decent, something you obviously know nothing about.

There is no need to recast the role leave T’Challa in memory of Chadwick.

Just pass on the mantel of Black Panther to a new character

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,356 ✭✭✭santana75

Thats shocking news. When I watched 21 Bridges I thought to myself that he looked lean, not unhealthy or anything like that, just a lot leaner than he had been in Black Panther. Never thought anything of it, but to think he was going through cancer treatment at the time.......he was a strong dude, no doubt about it. I hope he's sitting at a table in Heaven with Jesus himself as we speak.

This is what I was thinking there is no way they can just recast T'Challa. They must have known his battle and probably had an idea in mind. The only question is will they push back the movie now and when the movie will be made how will they do it. Something with the snap maybe
