Irish Times Family Subscription - [Read 1st post]

So I’m a fully paid up member for Irish times last 6
Months. I felt I needed some clear concise news I could rely on! However saving for a mortgage means I have to cut costs for all my subs.

I’ve successfully joined a share for Netflix, Spotify Disney etc but looking to see if anyone wants to share Irish times?

I can take 2 people (1 device each) and it’s €4 a month for the subscription. Ideally to be paid upfront for 3 months but I’m easy going! PM if you would like to set this up.

If not I’ll be cancelling it
    https://www.irishtimes.com/subscribe/ie

Note from Boards.ie: Mark - Please note that Irish Times may clamp down on abuse/workarounds of the family subscription in the future and that boards.ie (and the OP) accepts no responsibility if this happens.
Note from Boards.ie: Mark - Buyer beware; we advise you to be cautious about who you hand over your money to. If issues arise, it can only be rectified between you and the person that you paid. If this fails, you can attempt to seek a refund via Paypal.

    • Family allows 3 active devices.
    • Must share one login.
    • Price should be split equally - no financial gain.

If you can "find" a student attending college, it's free while they attend the college.
All they need to do is put in their college number and then you use your
    email address and log in.

Does the Irish Times do family subscriptions? I've never heard of it and I don't see it on their website.

I've never heard of them having a family package but would be interested if there is one available.

Says here you can use the subscription on three devices at one time.

This is in complete breach of the T&Cs I imagine, plus there is nothing to stop any individual using 2 or 3 devices simultaneously thus locking others out. It's not like spotify family etc. where each member has their own account.

Same as Netflix or Disney+ (both of which I successfully operate families) for years.

Hi OP, how are you getting that price of €70 per year. Is this the price per subscription in total or is it €70 per person for 3 sharing. Cheers, freebee23

Is that for 7 day subscription including Sunday Times?

Do you have one for the Irish independent too?
    Or just for the times.

The Sunday Times is part of the The Times of London, owned by News Corp.

The Irish Times is a completely separate organisation owned by The Irish Times Trust

So you want two other people to subsidise your Irish Times subscription basically? What's to stop you revoking access by changing the logon details? Family subscription... nice try...

Would you expect to get Amazon Prime TV on a Netflix subscription?

Sums seem a bit off here. Premium on the website is €16 a month with the first month free?

Information on Irish Times subscriptions can be found here:

    https://www.irishtimes.com/subscribe/ie

I have the weekend one for €5 a week. This includes ONE hard-copy of the paper on a Saturday.

Only one person can receive the actual paper on these subscriptions.

All others in the "family" can only access the digital content

Edit: OP is referring to the "Premium"package which is digital content only.

Apologies, sleep deprived when I posted originally. It's €16 X 12 months divided by three so €64 each.

If it's priced weekly, you need to add another month to get the 52 weeks.

    Yeah it’s €4 x 52 = €208 / 3 So €70 give or take

It's priced monthly so it should be €16 X 11 and then add €1 as the first month is only a euro.

True, and I believe this was the basis of my original calculation.

Interesting I was charged yesterday €16 by IT so they quote weekly and charge monthly. I have run Spotify, Netflix, Headspace and Disney+ families. Always share at net cost, dealt with wonderful people all along, no one ever took the piss.

BA is a most useful forum for making your hard earned go a bit further and it's fun. Cannot understand why people overthink it.
