I’ve just climbed Croagh Patrick and pitched a tent. Now I’ve realised the restaurant we’re eating in is 3 km away and I don’t know any taxi service so I gotta drive and not drink :(

Ok, let's get this show on the road shall we?

    1. Name a sport contested at the 1896 Summer Olympic Games in Athens (9 correct answers, all of which are still Summer Olympic sports)

Reminder that I posted a clarification in relation to this:

Example: Kayaking would not be a correct answer - Sailing is classed as the sport.

NB: Sailing is not one of the 9 sports

6 of 9 possible answers identified here.

Question 1: Name a sport contested at the 1896 Summer Olympic Games in Athens (9 correct answers, all of which are still Summer Olympic sports)

Wrestling is our clear popular answer. Quite a few incorrects here, and people are rather unfortunate in my view.

Whilst the incorrects are events that took place at the 1896 Olympics (in the most part, golf was not played there), the wider classification of 'sport' was what I was looking for.

Great answers from HeidiHeidi and Reberetta to start with some lovely ace work.

Question 4: Name a country that has won an Olympic Gold medal in long distance running. (1500, 5000 or 10000 metres)

Unfortunately for both quickbeam and yozico, Russia have never won a gold medal at any of the three distances.

Fortunately however for Electric Nitwit - The Soviet Union has. (They are classed differently for Olympics, like some other nations as you may see later)
