€700 is still a fair whack though. €1300 for installation. Are they not only a couple of hundred quid in the UK?

The UK can be worse. To get the grant there now the charger gas to be smart (built in WiFi) apparently so they can load balance all chargers at a later date, and the charger must have extra earth check built in or its own earth rod or some extra stuff. So the UK grant minimum requirements are higher than ROI. ROI often gets and isolation switch, although many older installs here did not.

In the past a basic charger including labour and vat could be had for 600 all in, now 1000 is typical with Zappi often 1300. There is very few suppliers listing prices online. However in this thread it was just Chinese whispers that got details all wrong.

Unfortunately it was the OP who started the whispering.

Jesus he’s getting a bit of a roasting. Sure, he got his wires crossed (or perpetuated someone else’s crossed wires) but there clearly wasn’t anything malicious in it. He came for advice, now he knows what’s what.

I think it was his tone in some comments after that. He proceeded to tell a seasoned poster and EV owner they have the grant system mixed up. Then he posted that he thought it was a Chinese whisper thread but the untruths came from the OP.

Anyway, truth it out now. Hopefully Info was retained and lessons learned.
