This is a really weird take because Ken is very clearly a socialist in the classical sense of the word. Calling him “mainstream” is just a very lazy, coded way of saying I’m right-wing and can’t take being told I’m wrong.

I dislike Branno because he seems to have a particularly annoying 16-year-old's know it all opinions on the world and whatever the lads are talking about. I enjoyed Ken needling him about his hipster Boh's today, he took the obvious bait too and got annoyed. The accent stuff that poster dreamt up is bizarre, Branno doesn't even have a particularly strong Dublin accent. Sneyd has a way stronger accent & I have zero issue with him because he's not up his own hole!

I really like Branno's addition to the regular team.

I particularly like hearing him laugh in the distant background when Ken takes flight.

Ken is a world class wind up merchant and that's what I'm here for

Can’t say I was overly convinced by Rocky Elsom’s attempt to defend himself

Think they covered it when he was nominated for POTY, was always going to get an all star once he was nominated for POTY so not much new to say I guess

Some first half at Parkhead. The new format is fantastic if you follow a team on the cusp like Celtic for the eight matches. The Swiss system is a success relative to what we had before.

I couldn't really get what Elsom was done for but Eoin did and I don't think he was having much of Elsom's story.

God, even scandals involving Rugby is boring.

Any tickets available for the show tomorrow night?

My faith in Lawrence Donegan’s political analysis has been severely undermined

He didn't guarantee Harris would win, he said there would be nothing in it, I've seen others be way more confident than him.

It really a shocking indictment of Americans that he got so many votes, he showed callous indifference during COVID and tried to stage a coup 'ah sure he's a grand lad altogether'

Is Donegan going to come down from his Ivory tower to tell us all what happened?

He wasn't up against much. Harris was dreadful.

Tell me one non-mainstream political view Ken has. Hardly right wing given a chunk of my working life has been acting as a caseworker for asylum applicants, funny carry-on for a right-winger dont you think? I could make assumptions about you based on your posting style but i'll defer because that would be silly.

That Donegan pod looks even more out of touch this morning.

Go over to the current affairs thread on the election. A bunch of lads in there will be happy to tell you what has happened through their tears.

Branno literally said Duffer frothing his way to a LoI title was the biggest sports story in the year we had our greatest ever Olympics, something that brought so many parts of society that don’t engage with any sport, into the fold for a beautiful shining moment that will be remembered by everyone who was there to witness it.

Jesus H. Christ. This is why LoI supporters are the butt of so many jokes.

Personally reckon Duff has a great chance of RTÉ Sport Manager of the Year. Outsiders to league champions with a group of players largely not considered best in the league is incredible. As the Olympics isn't a single story but a series of individual stories woven together over a short period, I can see the logic. It's certainly up there but so is Rhys falling off the pommel 4 years ago to winning gold. I'd forgive any fan of any sport championing their sports the week after a big event happened.

I cant think of a better Irish manager this year. McGeeney? Maybe. Brian Lohan? Maybe. Farrell? Not for me.

it was a ridiculous statement from branno, surprised none of the lads picked him up on it. a single bronze medal in the olympics is a bigger story than a LOI win. not denigrating the LOI, just the olympics is so august.

i wonder if the olympics never happened this year, where would Duff's win rank in Irish sport stories? still not sure it's number one but I suppose there's nothing else

Any one know who the guests were in the 2nd half last night?

I went, huge crowd. They started with 2 Shels players (they were OK) and then Shane O'Donnell (Clare hurler) then they said "we'll be back after the break with some Rugby chat". Me and my friend left.

    Not for me.
