Gw36+ transfer thread

I am more than likely going to use my transfer each week on my striker spot
Last week was Jiminez to Vardy
This week was going to be Vardy to Ings
But now Giroud has got his rest I might get Giroud for Norwich game
And then Giroud to Ings .

My budget defenders are apparently fixture proof so no point wasting a transfer on any of them !

    Either Vardy to Ings
    or
    Traore to Antonio

will see how Vardy plays tomorrow

I'm thinking of KDB to Dilva and Sarr or Foden to Antonio.

Might just fix my mistake, Jimi to Jesus

    Mings out Mendy in

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,833 ✭✭✭shineon23

I feel like rage transfering Foden out despite him more likely to start next GW.

But thinking of Free hitting. Going against my better judgement of using it to copy my rival's team in gw38+.

Playing the free hit and looking at playing:

    Pickford
    Coleman, Digne, Mendy
    Sterling, Fernandes, Martial, Willian, Pulisic
    Ings, Greenwood

    Schmeichel, Jesus, Fernandez, Lundstram

First draft and 3.9mill left to spend so any advice on who to change appreciated.

I'd swap Pickford for Ederson and Willian for Antonio.

    VVD to AWB

    Or KDB to someone else.

Or Vardy to Gru, depending on tomorrow

I wouldn't, Willian is up against Norwich this time around. I would expect a backlash from Chelsea.

Oh yeah, fair point. They were rubbish tonight but Norwich are dreadful

    Maybe a Chelsea defender?

I'm also FH'ing. First draft myself:

    Pickford
    Azpi Digne AWB
    Sterling KDB Pulisic Antonio Bruno
    Jesus Ings

    Martin-Taylor-Cresswell-Greenwood

Need big hitters. Think this covers most of them. I have 1m itb so can upgrade AWB if needs be but he has been very attacking of late. Other options are Cresswell, Doherty and Coleman.

Am I missing anyone obvious or any advice here?

Edit: Ritchie might also be a good punt - looking very good on MOTD today, on set pieces and was subbed off on 70th min so hopefully good to start next game.

    I’ve no idea
I felt so stupid for not getting kdb back every week
Now I feel stupid for getting him back last week
    And getting Foden at all

He wont play versus bournemout i dont think.

Do we think this is the week that Salah finally gets rested now that golden boot might be pushed a step too far tomorrow?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,833 ✭✭✭shineon23

    Free Hit Draft #1

    Kepa (Button)

    Azpilicueta-Doherty-Digne-(Aurier-KWP)

    Pulisic-Martial-Bruno-KDB-Sterling

    Ings-Jesus(Greenwood)

Am I missing anything obvious apart from being at Pep's mercy, with those 3 City players starting tonight.

Just making a mental not to myself to do salah to sterling for gw38
David silvan can assist all his goals :D

Thinking Chelsea attack might be better than defense. How about Pickford/Pope and Willian instead of Kepa and Martial?

    Cheers,
I will never own Pickfraud again for as long as I live, not to be dramatic :P

Would rather double Chelsea attack alright will have a play around.

My own Draft #2 has been

    DDG (Button)

    Azpilicueta-Doherty-Digne-(KWP-Tanganga)

    Pulisic-Son-Bruno-KDB-Sterling

    Ings-Jesus(Greenwood)

Can get Willian instead of Son easily, David Silva would be nice to own one last time in one of my City spots

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,788 ✭✭✭Benimar

Current thinking is Mahrez and Kane to Salah and Ings with my 2FT

Probably the best week to use the free hit. City and chelsea with two great fixtures. Pulisic and Willian look certain. Its picking three from city that's the problem.

Sterling, jesus and...KDB? Could see KDB getting rested tho.

Foden will start this one I think

2 FTs and not sure what to do. Would like Antonio, but -

    Bruno - undroppable
Foden - will start and has either hauled or had highest xg when he does.
    Salah - it's Salah and it's Arsenal
    Pulisic - Norwich at home
KDB - actually think he gets rested ahead of FA Cup

So possibly KDB to Antonio but going from 3 City to 2 ahead of Bmouth seems counter intuitive. Dilva or Sterling are other options. Just not enough midfield slots!

Kdb went off after 60 mins yday (as did Jesus )
Sterling and Mahrez played the 90

I would not be so sure kdb doesn’t play midweek

I would leave the team as it is. What's to stop West Ham and Watford having a friendly 0-0 draw :)

I'm tempted to do Mahrez -> Sterling. I've got great returns out of Mahrez since the restart but it also seems like he has played a lot recently and due a rest.

Very sideways move but could just get Sterling while he's in form.

I think he plays every minute he’s available for.

I think he plays every minute he’s available for.

It’s a tricky one. Arsenal will likely play a weakened side with the FA Cup to concentrate on but Liverpool just don’t look very good post-title win and without Henderson.

I had been considering salah to sterling for a hit
But forgot about the Fa cup aspect for arsenal
That’s enough for me to keep him
Chelsea after that not exactly rock solid either ......might do it gw 38 instead

Tempted to ship out KDB for Sterling or David Silva - is he playing deeper lately or just getting unlucky not to be on the final pass?

Sterling surely not starting against Bournemouth after just playing the full 90 when he could have been taken off in preparation?

Hit the post (i think) from a free and Jesus hit the bar from one of his passes.

A few breaks and he has 20+ in last two games

He didn't play any minutes against Burnley in GW30+, followed by full 90 against Chelsea and 78 minutes against Liverpool.

He was then taken off before 60 minutes against Southampton, played less than half an hour against Newcastle and got the full 90 yesterday.

That looks like a lot of minutes managed for him recently so I can see him starting the next day and then being taken off around 65 minutes.

Also FH'ing and basically have your team but Willian instead of Son

    DDG
    Azpilicueta - Doherty - Digne (Stephens/Taylor)
    Pulisic Willian Sterling KDB Bruno
    Ings Jesus (Greenwood)

    Plan B has
    Mahrez/Giroud instead of Willian/Jesus
Also gives fund for another 5.5 defender on the bench for emergency

Kane was a tragic mistake 3 gameweeks ago. Thinking of Jesus to accompany greenwood and vardy.

But FA Cup is the complete priority for them now. The Bournemouth game is nothing really. If they weren't planning on resting him they would have surely taken him off like they did De Bruyne and Jesus when the game was won.

Vardy to ings or giroud as planned
Then a long hard think on whether to get sterling on for salah and captain him as a blocker
    I might have to

Can’t imagine West Ham Watford being a high scoring affair, given there’s so much at stake. Might chance Willian instead of Antonio on FH. I do realise how stupid I’ll look if that backfires...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 805 ✭✭✭SameOleJay

Jimi to Ings done last night, am not going without him against Brighton.

2nd is much tougher. Auba to Jesus a possibility, Martinez to Pope another. It's too much surgery I think to get Antonio or Pulisic in as a 5th mid so will have to live without. Would also leave an impossible bench decision which I never enjoy.

    That’s not stupid imo
    It’s sensible
Chelsea have a much better fixture and he is on all set pieces
Even if he will never ever be in my team again

Moyes is quite negative so that's good logic, can't see him trying to set up West Ham to be too attacking

Given that city will presumably have beaten Bournemouth by then a draw will probably still be enough for both teams .......

It's a guessing game as always with Pep. He has mentioned integrity before about facing relegation threatened teams in the home stretch so I don't see him making lots of changes.

I think he'll make 3 or 4 changes and if the game is looking like it's won he'll be quick to haul off the big boys around the 65' mark.

Saying that I think KDB and Mahrez will be benched. KDB as he's their most important player and Mahrez because he has played a lot of minutes in the last 7.
