I know it's a very famous song and all but didn't expect Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now to do this well

Its a classic though, possibly over played but I still love it. I've actually never heard that Stringsteen song before, not to gone on it either.

my feelings with the smashing pumpkins. just never warmed to their music for whatever reason.

as has been pointed out, music is so subjective. you could be the biggest metal fan going but still enjoy miley cyrus or paul potts or whoever!

Rothko's points definitely shake up the table a bit, but Bruce still leads the way. The Pumpkins are hunting down Starship now though as the Manics come from nowhere to force their way into the top ten. Muse climbing nicely too given they had been dead last with 0 points after 5 entries were revealed

    Song Scores
Bruce Springsteen - The River 98
Starship - Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now 84
Smashing Pumpkins - Bullet With Butterfly Wings 81
Johnny Cash - The Mercy Seat 75

Manic Street Preachers - Motorcycle Emptiness 59
Paul Engemann - Push It To The Limit 55
Avenged Sevenfold - Hail To The King 54
    Muse - Hysteria 53
    Eminem - When I'm Gone 50
Justin Timberlake - Can't Stop The Feeling 46
    Oasis - Talk Tonight 41
Adele - Someone Like You 39
    Jason Mraz - I Won't Give Up 38
Jace Everett - Bad Things 35
    Shinedown - Diamond Eyes 34
Blues Brothers & Ray Charles - Shake A Tailfeather 29

    With an inferior cover?
You just said what we were all thinking.

I'm fine with Johnny Cash covers though, I met my partner of 15 years on a message board because they had lyrics from Hurt in their sig and I asked if they preferred the NIN version or the original. I got an earful AND fell in love :D

That said ole Nick might be our first dance at our wedding just because he's so moody and suitable.

Absolutely nothing wrong with liking multiple genres of music EN.

My Spotify playlists can often jump from Iron Maiden to S Club 7.

I love Smashing Pumpkins but absolutely detest Manic Street Preachers - I think Shane probably has mixed feelings towards me! :p

Incidentally that Justin Timberlake song is class, I thought it was one I knew and was indifferent to, but this Surlaw opened my eyes to it! (That and the Scarface song, which I actually didn't know at all but also really enjoyed)
