Does anyone know of any real life examples in Ireland? I think it was only just made illegal last year. Browsing 4chan, I saw one of my former classmates on an "Irish Sluts" thread. Unexpected but this country is a small place

It's a scummy thing to do and people should be prosecuted for sharing intimate things like that without consent.

    Fcuk Putin. Glory to Ukraine!

Genuinely, truthfully never heard of it. (4 Chan)

Sound like an abbreviation of a Channel 4 online thing.

Indeed, I'm actually keeping an eye on a blog about a chef and his local (to me) current girlfriend who took money from his ex..and made threats about posting her images....so I'd say while not common..it definitely happens

serious question here for the ladies. when your boyfriend takes a picture or video of you naked, do you think he keeps it to himself?

If your putting up videos of intimate encounters, in an attempt to shame humiliate or get back at a person..

You should essentially be put on some form of sexual predator list. Utterly disgusting thing to do.

It's clear what he's suggesting, I'm sure loads of people treat the boudoir pics with the intimacy that they deserve but many many lads are insecure children that can't help but boast in every and all ways they can to help them feel important.

Sexual predator is a bit much, but I agree that there should be harsh penalties.

Harsh? I think its fair. Some hateful human putting a video of some one having sex, Imagine how you'd feel after 1000 people watched it tugging the stomach of them selves. To something you never consented to being put in the public eye it should be viewed as an act of a sexual predator.

The very nature of revenge porn is to humiliate, violate and hurt someone. How is that any different to pedophilia or rape?

My ex posted a revenge porn video of me online. It was so short she could have made it into a .gif

The thing about revenge porn is, does it really affect someone as much in 2020 compared to if it was posted in the early noughties?

If you had told people when the internet began that in not to short time, people would be posting images of themselves at home, on holidays, etc on social media, they would have been utterly perplexed by how stupidly open someone is. One would have thought it wouls bring a lot of attention.

But posting your entire life is what happens today on Facebook, Instagram and no one gives a **** about it. Ironically, everyone openly posting about their life means that it won't attract attention.

My thinking is that this is the same with revenge porn. There is so much pornography online that if someone were to put a video of you sucking dick for 20 minutes, it would be part of the millions of videos that already exist on thousands of internet sites. Thus, no one would take notice and this would barely affrct your life.

As i told you, one of my classmates in secondary school had her nudes uploaded online. I don't think it's affected her much.

    Yes, because I trust him.

Who even sends someone a nude photo/video, honestly it's a recipe for disaster

A friend of mine had revenge porn posted online, hidden camera, no consent given. There were threats to send it to her job, family and friends. Absolutely horrific thing to do to someone. The name doesn't help, it's not always a leaked picture you chose to be a part of and even if you do, it's still a violation.

because it is neither pedophilia nor rape

for the record, it should be an offence

but classing every offence that involves sex as full on sexual assault is a retrograde and counterproductive instinct

It’s a very good reason why I have never, and would never, consent to have intimate or revealing photographs, video etc of me taken by anyone.

It is an absolutely vile and despicable thing to do to someone.

On the face of it, yes. But it depends on what the other person did and whether they deserve it too.
