Looking to sell my own car, have had decent interest but no one has turned up to view yet. Has 40 saves on donedeal!

Agree, nice car, nct, all i can think of is people phoning for insurance quotes and getting No because of age.

Thanks, ive had what seemed like genuine interest from 5 people but 3 cited travel restrictions for pulling out of viewing, the other two just made offers that i was happy with and didnt follow through then.

I have had plenty of will you take X Y Z tonight mostly slightly above half of asking price, i have no need to entertain those kind of offers as im not in a rush to get rid of it. If it doesn't go ill tax it and keep using it

Just as an alternative viewpoint, the pink lights and dropped suspension would give me boy racer vibes and think it’s probably had a hard life/had some serious issue recently.

Your posts here would put me at ease but that’s the vibe the pics give out to to me

Yeah i have pictures of it without the dropped suspension might be worth mentioning in the add that it was on standard suspension when i bought it. it is the only real mod to the car the pink lights can be removed easily i still have the normal bulbs so ill bear that in mind.

it passed the test with 4 shocks like bicycle pumps and the rear had shortend shocks for some reason so it looked dreadful and handled like a barge!

The coilover setup was similar price to 4 replacement shocks so i went with them over new standard springs and shocks as im 99% sure it would have needed rear springs anyway. Plus it can be adjusted to standard height if wanted with little hassle.

Very clean reliable car. I am selling it due to working from home and no longer require 2 cars for the household.

I put it up for €999. See what happens. I expect haggling.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,253 ✭✭✭Oops!

I'm afraid you won't even get an offer at that price....

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,069 ✭✭✭✭fryup

swap it for a multipack of tayto's ??

Don't like smokey bacon. 6 packs of salt and vinegar only.

I reduced the price anyway to 750, but I'd imagine it'll go lower with haggling. 250 of that is the Tax anyway.

The time has come for me to sell my beloved Subaru, which was actually owned by another boardsie before me! I've had this car 3.5 years and it's never given me any trouble. When I bought it, I did front and rear pads, discs and hoses, front calipers, and whole load of different joints etc. It has a full service history, last 3 services were in Castle garage (Subaru dealer in Bray) 2018, Autoworx (Subaru specialist) 2019 and 2020. I've been working from home for the past year and have only used it for 2000km since last service so no point in having a full size car like this sitting around idle.

If you know these cars you know how great they are! I am sad as I know I won't get the same driving experience with any other car that I can currently afford, but well, all good things must come to an end.

I've a 2008 Merc C180. 145,000km on clock. Declared off road, tax expired, since May.

Jumped it the other day, gave it a spin, battery won't hold the charge.

So needs new battery, tax and NCT.

Any idea what I could expect for it?

I'd say 3ish with NCT, maybe 2 without if it needs tyres and other attention to pass.

Okay, I was hoping I'd come away with 1200-1500, so that looks achievable!

Taking a photo of your car at 111 km/h is not cool

  • Registered Users Posts: 273 ✭✭Greenlights16

Got them to fix it :)

I don't know if that photo showing mpg is that relevant, extra one of car may be better...

Its still irritating me that its 49.9 and not 50 :D

    SOLD SOLD SOLD SOLD

    2002 Toyota Celica VVTi 140BHP

This is a project car, running and driving, tyres very good, lots of extras, 157k miles, no tax or NCT which is out since Sept., I think.

Leather interior, climate control, sunroof, alloys etc etc.

This is being sold for spares or repair, it's smoking from the exhaust under heavy acceleration. I've had it to two mechanics and gotten two opinions, one says it's over fueling, the other says it's the stem seals are failing. I just purchased it as a light resto but it's beyond my skills to go any further.

Price is €500 firm. PM me for details, car is located near Nenagh.

Pictures here from when I bought it, it's a lot cleaner now

Have a 2002 Fiat Punto 1.2 petrol 5-door, that I got a lend of while my own car was off the road. The owner has since bought a newer Golf and instructs me to sell the Punto.

    56K miles
    Central locking
    Perfect working order
Clean inside and out, not a mark on it.
    NCT 21/03/21
    Taxed 03/21

    €400

Will get an ad up with photos later today.

My first car was the same mode / engine - really fun to drive. That sounds like it could be great value for money at €400. 56K miles is madness, less than 3000 miles a year!

Yes...grand car. Basic A to B transport, cheap to run, and fast enough.

    Shameless plug!

1.2 is against it's favour i think but it's low mileage and has a nice bit of tax and test left.
