Fez, I didn't like him all that much but he had his moments

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,468 ✭✭✭Ectoplasm

Dorothy...she was the queen of wtf looks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,149 ✭✭✭Irish Aris

Dorothy all the way. I love her sense of humour!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 63 ✭✭Revit Man

Fez - Not the best character in the show but did have his moments

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,730 ✭✭✭✭TheValeyard

Fez , I know who he is

All eyes on Kursk. Slava Ukraini.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

A great show of support for Dorothy there in the last few minutes, but sadly its a little too late as Fez gets four votes first and makes his way in to Round 2

    Match 13

Interesting showdown here, and I wonder if enough people are familiar with the fantastic indie Canadian comedy Trailer Park Boys to come out and support Ricky or if the more mainstream appeal of The Good Place will seal the deal here for Eleanor...

    Eleanor Shellstrop (The Good Place)

    vs

    Ricky (Trailer Park Boys)

carp, i knew trailer park boys would eventually come up, I have a real love hate relationship with it, binged the lot of it, some great parts, but jaysus a lot of repetition
ricky cracked me up though, he was just so stupid
I only wanted from one minute onwards in this clip, but it wont let me link from current time....

    though not nearly as good as Jim Lahey {god rest him}

despite putting up the video of ricky i am going to give my vote to eleanor, really enjoyed the good place, havn't finished it yet though, she was an excellent character, much like my name is earl, really enjoy the flashbacks of her being bad, really strong cast, ted danson is amazing , really like jason and his love of blake bortles

Ricky because he's a Canadian style icon

    Take your pick!!

I can't say I've ever really watched either but if I was to go on a binge my preference would go to The Good Place so Eleanor Shellstrop

Also, don't mind me, I'm just taking the names of all those who dumped poor Jared from Silicon Valley out of the competition. There'll be a sheep or a peehs one of these days where you'll be hoping Davy made (or didn't make) the same choice as you and then you'll regret it. I haven't figured out how exactlly that'll work yet but I'm taking names anyway :pac:

Eleanor. The good place is so enjoyably silly.

Eleanor sends Ricky back to the Trailer Park with a 3-1 win and moves forward

    Match 14

I reckon its quite an unfortunate draw here for the Perfect Strangers star, but could he possibly cause a major upset and knock out Big Tuna...

    Jim Halpert (The Office)

    Balki Bartokomous (Perfect Strangers)

Ah, Perfect Strangers was good back in the day, but have to go for Jim Halpert, as he's lovely.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,136 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

Jim Halpert though he wouldn't be that funny if he didn't have Dwight to bounce off. Their feud was for me anyways the best part of the show.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,130 ✭✭✭eldamo

Sorry balki, the American office should not have worked, but by God it did.

Jim for the win. Dwight will alway have the last laugh though.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

    Jim IS funny!

    Jim, some epic pranks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

An unsurprising win there for Jim Halpert, but glad to see at least of couple of people were familiar with Balki who unfortunately didn't stand much of a chance on that one

    Match 15

Will the Women's Shoe Salesman join his wife in the Loser's Lounge or head in to Round 2 alongside his daughter, or can will the Grounded For Life deadbeat come out the victor here...

Al Bundy, 4 touchdowns in one game and a very relateable man, at times.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,130 ✭✭✭eldamo

al bundy, havn't watched it for years, really enjoyed it at the time.

really enjoyed grounded for life too, the mom was tasty, really never a fan of uncle eddy though

I’ve missed out on a serious amount of TV growing up. The majority of the shows so far I’ve never watched.

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

Me too. That's why I get excited when there's one I've actually seen, like Dorothy or Jim.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,149 ✭✭✭Irish Aris

Al Bundy, the main man!! More of my time, and really enjoyable back in the day (although I don't know if I would rewatch it now)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

Well he did once score 4 touchdowns in one game, and now he's done it again, Al Bundy makes quick work of Eddie Finnerty

    Match 16

There has already been one showdown between Golden Girls and That '70s Show, with the latter being victorious, but it was a close contest, so can Sophia pull out a win here or will Kitty make it two for two, and the third victory of the comp for the '70s gang...

    Kitty Forman (That 70's Show)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,149 ✭✭✭Irish Aris

ah, tough one, I like both as characters and actresses.

I will go with Sophia, purely because I'm more familiar with Golden Girls

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,130 ✭✭✭eldamo

i'll go with kitty, she was very good

never a fan of the golden girls

sorry, worst reasoning i have done so far.

red needs someone to keep him away from that little foreign kid in the next round

Sophia. All the GGs were great.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,136 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

I hated Kitty and her stupid annoying laugh.

But dont know the other one so abstain here.

Kitty for that wonderful mane she's rocking

A close match there, but Sophia Petrillo lives to see another day beating Kitty by a 3-2 vote

    Match 17

Now THIS is a Match! Will James Van Der Beek as "himself" in the performance of his career be upstaged by Sabrina's wisecracking cat...

Salem Saberhagan (Sabrina, The Teenage Witch)

James Van Der Beek (Don't Trust the B**** in Apartment 23)

I'm gonna go for the talking cat here I think, I have fond memories of Sabrina as a young fella.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,149 ✭✭✭Irish Aris

Vote for Salem, this cat is savage at times!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,130 ✭✭✭eldamo

van der beek, he was top notch in that show, shame it didn't last longer

  • Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators Posts: 16,287 Mod ✭✭✭✭quickbeam

    Salem was hilarious.

Never saw the other show but that clip makes it look fun.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,011 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

    Salem, he was pretty funny

    Salem.

    A likeable rogue.

A clear win there for Salem Saberhagan, I'm not too surprised, but a tad disappointed to see Van Der Beek beaten so early on. He deserved better. :D

    Match 18

This is some Match for a Round 1 Face-Off! This is the type of showdown I'd expect to see towards the end of the competition, so which of these Goliath's of modern sitcom is going to progress to Round 2 right now...

Charlie Kelly (Its Always Sunny In Philadelphia)

    Michael Scott (The Office)

Michael Scott. All of the Always Sunny characters are just annoying.

    Michael Scott.

I really tried to like Always Sunny. Lasted two series. Meh, it was alright I suppose, but nothing compared with Dunder Mifflin's finest.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,712 ✭✭✭Sawduck

Charlie Kelly even though I'm sure he will lose, tough choice but I am supporting the rat King himself, funny guy

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,011 ✭✭✭PsychoPete

Putting Charlie up against Michael isn't cool in my book. I'm going to vote for Michael, he is so cringe and awkward especially during the Scott's Tots episode

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,730 ✭✭✭✭TheValeyard

    Charlie Kenny

    Very memeable

All eyes on Kursk. Slava Ukraini.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 52,136 Mod ✭✭✭✭Necro

Michael Scott for me. Never really 'got' Its Always Sunny tbh.

Initially annoying but eventually loveable, Scott's character takes us on a journey imo.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,130 ✭✭✭eldamo

this is the most conflicted i have been yet.

jesus, i love charlie, i think i will have to transfer that love over to the dennis system,

because, that's what she said, Michael Scott for the win

    phew, what came over me

that was an awful draw, either way we are losing someone very special to me

if it had been jim against charlie, it would have been charlie all day long

but michael scott, how many vasectomies and reversals did he have for Jan, do you know what that does to a mans body?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,503 ✭✭✭✭Also Starring LeVar Burton

In the toughest battle yet Michael Scott is voted the World's Best Boss and Charlie Kelly is back to cleaning the toilets. That was agonizing to watch, big fan of both characters myself.

    Match 19

Wasn't a lot of love for Eddie Finnerty when he made an appearance earlier, so will his Grounded For Life big brother have better luck or will the Schitt's Creek Matriarch take the crown...

    Moira Rose (Schitt's Creek)

    Sean Finnerty (Grounded For Life)

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,130 ✭✭✭eldamo

sean, that was an ok show.

Just watched the first episode of the creek, it didn't grab me at all, i hear that it gets better

I'm on Season 5 of SC - it's grand. Still hate Moira though, so abstaining.
