Think it was his acceptance of his guilt and participation in the nazi regime that saved his neck! The rest of them were cowards in the end, who took their own lives or stated that they only acted on orders.

There are a few July 5th bombing documentaries around at the moment. I watched the Sky one, a three parter. Quite good, kept a relatively tight focus on the subject matter. We hear from police officers, former M15, some of the survivors, the bereaved and family of one of the bombers (or rather, an actor because the father died a few years ago). Thankfully, the second wave of attacks were unsuccessful because they hadn't been trained properly on how to mix the ingredients. The trainer wasn't methodical. Emotional at times, a police inspector is still ravaged by his experiences and a guy on forensics speaks about working 18 hour stints in the tunnel afterwards.
