Best of luck to him, he'll have his work cut out.

Yeah that's not the worst appointment in the world is it.

It will be interesting to see how Shane Walsh copes with the language barrier. 😉

I did have to laugh how the TG4 analyst Coggins seemed to be justifying the Walsh to Crokes move on the basis that 6 non Dubs are playing for Templeogue?

I was shouting at the telly but Crokes have Shane Walsh! Come on lads hardly a coherent argument. Walsh One of the best forwards in the country

I hope it is good match between the two Southside teams for the neutral. Saturday's games were forgone conclusions. Hopefully Templeogue put it up to Crokes and show the same level of fight they showed v Raheny.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Dessie Farrell on camera watching the match, getting advice from his young fella beside him I think. It will be grand lads!

Just watching Mannion do his thing and wishing he'd come back into the squad...

Good to see Con back on the field today even if James McCarthy gave him a bone crunching tackle late on. Cuala's reward for beating Ballymun is a crack at Kilmacud Crokes in the quarter final.

Watching NA Fianna vs Whitehall totally get butchered as a contest by the ref..

doesn’t know whether to award a penalty so goes to ask his umpires who are further away from the incident then he is and at no sort of an angle to make such a call…After a lot of talking, shoulder shrugging, confused expressions and nervous smiling it gets decided it’s a penalty…. 😬

subsequent replay shows the foul was about 3-4 feet outside the square… so not borderline at all, just not a penalty.. umpires in NO position to make a judgement but, they do after a long chat…ffs

an enthralling contest full of speed, skill, physicality and honest effort that the officials have done absolutely everything to make a farce of it…

Mannion and Jack Flash back in the squad

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,022 ✭✭✭blowitupref

And some had the view they weren't going to return while Dessie Farrell was manager.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,573 ✭✭✭ArielAtom

It will be full tilt Yerra from certain quarters now😂😂😂😡

Brilliant news. They will have a right go at reclaiming Sam next year.

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,091 ✭✭✭MFPM

Didn't see that coming at all, was hopeful Mannion might come back but had given up on McCaffery. It's really good news....

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,124 ✭✭✭YabaDabaDooley

Great news. Might lift some of the doom and gloom of a few posters on here lately. Dessie and all Dubs have had a big result with the dynamic duo coming back for more silverware.

Massive boost for the squad never thought it likely . Like others gave Paul a chance but not Jack great news .

Makes Dublin huge favourites for the All Ireland again next year after Kerry limped over the line this year. Some recruitment by Dessie to get the lads back

  • Registered Users Posts: 3,809 ✭✭✭Did you smash it

Mccaffrey not playing with clontarf and Mannion might not be seen lining out for anyone till well into 2023 after looking like he sustained a serious knee injury last night.

not sure this will work out meaning that much.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,588 ✭✭✭billyhead

Won't take long for JMcC to rediscover his game imo and as long as Mannion is fit for the Champo that's all that matters.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,302 ✭✭✭Gael85

Both lads will be 30 next year and we still have an aging defence. kerry will be strong favourites for next couple AI's. Jack O'Connor will be passing out Mick O'Dwyer for number of AI wins as manager in next few years.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,312 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Feck it didn’t know Mannion’s injury was serious. The Clontarf fella can be Vinnie Murphy Thurles 2.0 super sub. Would be great last 20 regardless of how fit he is. Plus great example to younger lads on panel. A winner’s mentality hard worker.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,461 ✭✭✭dobman88

Fair points but they're 2 of the best players to ever grace a pitch. Saying that, PaddyPower still have it 6/4 Kerry, 2/1 Dublin so what do I know.

Adds another dimension to Championship 2023 anyway.

No matter, we are better with them than without them.

That was a lovely boost to get yday evening.

Philly's comments during the week make more sense now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,556 ✭✭✭RoyalCelt

White hall Vs Na Fianna was a north Dublin derby?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,573 ✭✭✭ArielAtom

Well they are both from the Northside so technically yes, why do you ask?

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,200 ✭✭✭✭Bass Reeves

Great to see two more d players back for Dublin. Taking positions on the replacement bench that should be for younger players if you are trying to transition. Hopefully none of the other older players will retire either.

Fair play to them keep going as long as they can

    Slava Ukrainii

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,312 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

Jayus, I will have nothing to give out about soon. Credit to whoever did the work behind the scenes.

I see no one took the 'huge favourites' bait! Only a serious to injury to David Clifford and Sean O'Shea could swing that pendulum, at the business end of the championship.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,461 ✭✭✭dobman88

Yeah the huge favourites comment was tongue in cheek. Won't be far off it when championship rolls around if the 2 lads are fit and Con is back though.

Dublin came within a whisker of Kerry, only for a hail Mary kick from Seanie. Add Con into it and it may have been a different story. Add Jack and Mannion back in and it's definitely a different story.

  • Registered Users Posts: 18,312 ✭✭✭✭gormdubhgorm

In my head anyway Mannion definitely starts, not sure on Jack. Mainly because of fitness issues, and has he the same in the legs?

Plus McCaffery coming on in the last 20 minutes of a crucial match would be more beneficial I think, against tired legs. Lifting the crowd etc. Because Dublin are crying out for that type of bench option. Your crowd did it well with that fella with the skinny jeans, in the past.

Guff about stuff, and stuff about guff.

Arent they neighbouring clubs???? Isn't Na Fianna's club house right beside Whitehall college?

Not right beside each other. Ones on Mobhi road and the other Collins Avenue. I'd say about 3km from each other.
