Hewanorra is the “international” one, Vigie Beach is the little one on the shore line north of Castries. Immediate left turn out to see - over the graveyard!

    Lovely place aaah!

I possibly was in both. Flew from Barbados to st Lucia. It was a small airport. And then flew from Lucia to ny. You are right it's some place

I flew into Liege airport once due to a diversion, it was basically a prefab shed.

Must have been a fairly long shed if the plane could land on it

Ok, the terminal was a shed.

My favourite airports are Vancouver and Seattle-Tacoma. They were pleasant places as far as airports go. Athens, Bratislava and Krakow airports were surprisingly nice as well.

The worst airports I've passed through are Warsaw Modlin (it's a shed), Terminal 2 in Lisbon (just a bigger shed) and Manchester airports (chaotic when I was there).

The strangest experience I've had was at Ben Gurion. Our flight was delayed twice in the terminal. They finally boarded the flight (we were bused out to the plane) late in the evening and we were taxiiing down the runway. We stopped, waited for final clearance for take off for ages and then the Captain made an announcement over the PA system that the tower was closed and that we would have to go back to the terminal and disembark. We had to wait overnight in the airport until the following morning for the flight to leave. I've often wondered why our flight was rescheduled to take off when the tower was closed

I would love to try Donegal Airport.

Manchester airports (chaotic when I was there).

Yeah Terminal 3 is especially awful. I use it all too often.

Schönfeld is a pretty sorry excuse for a capital city's airport. There's a state of the art (well at least it was in 2010) airport a kilometre away which has been mired down in controversy and f*ck ups for the last 10 year, it might open next year but I wouldn't hold my breath.

Who'd have thought the master race were so inept?

It’s absolutely shocking. Both Berlin’s airports frequently appear in top ten lists of the world’s worst airports. This is an important, large city and its airports are a complete embarrassment.

From my list, you’ll see that I’ve been in a mix of airports. I’ve used one of the busiest airports in the world (Heathrow), I’ve used small, quiet airports (Knock, Murcia) and I’ve used airports that though quite small, deal with a pretty large amount of passengers (Keflavik, Bristol, Cardiff) and every other airport on the list apart from Schoenfeld has been absolutely grand. Lots of seating, well organised. Just no hassle. I don’t know how the powers that be aren’t mortified with Berlin’s airport situation. It left a really bad taste in my mouth and the stress of that airport left me a sweaty mess on the plane out of there. Poor guys sitting next to me.

Interesting to see where people have traveled to.

Lots of Europe, plenty of Asia. Canada, US and Mexico.

Want to back pack around South America before I die and will probably visit some African countries in the next few years.

Skipping Dublin/London/Brussels/Paris routes, haven't seen these mentioned:

Gibraltar - My absolute favourite airport of all especially with the wind from the south and buffeting around the rock.
    Midway (Chicago)
Meigs field (Chicago, featured as the default airport in Microsoft Flight simulator)
Saddam International Airport (Subsequently renamed to something more 'generic')
    Jeddah
    Riyadh
    Dammam

One I always wanted to get to but missed, was Carnmore. I so wanted to be able to fly home into Galway... oh well, I'll have to wait for the local parish priest to start a campaign to get Connemara Airport upgraded...

Berlin Schoenfeld (or whatever it’s called now) - the WORST airport I’ve been in by a long shot. Don’t use this airport. I’ve never been in an airport before where there wasn’t enough seating for everyone.

It is indeed a ****hole. Tegel isn't much better. Brandenburg is opening next year but it has taken so long to be built that its likely going to be over capacity already! So Tegel or Schönefeld will stay around, likely Tegel due to location. That's what I heard from local Berlin people anyway. The one good thing I will say about Tegel is that it has a fantastic viewing area. There's a terrace at the top of the airport that allows you a complete parallel view of both parallel runways.

My list off the top of my head:

    Local, Europe and Turkey:

    Dublin
    Shannon
    Birmingham
    London Heathrow
    London Gatwick
    Faro
    Barcelona El Prat
    Reus
    Berlin Tegel
    Berlin Schönefeld
    Mallorca Palma
    Gran Canaria Las Palmas
    Venice Marco Polo
    Bodrum
    Zakynthos

    US:

    JFK
    Newark
    Orlando
    Fort Lauderdale
    Las Vegas

Up next: Hoping to book Boston and Vienna soon. After that it will be Canada, Scandinavia and Poland.
