The best system would be lower USC and PAYE, and increase property and asset-based taxes, bring in a monthly property tax, such as they have in the UK, and introduce an insurance-based health service with subsidies for those on modest incomes. Everyone pays something, even on a very modest income, and then a compulsory auto-enrolment pension once someone starts work.

I take it that you mean that median data is preferable to mean data.

    I agree.

But this CSO survey generates only mean data.

The Earnings, Hours and Employment Costs Survey (EHECS) is a survey that collects earnings, labour cost, hours and employment data from enterprises each quarter. The EHECS survey provides the basis for the production of earnings and labour costs statistics, which measures the cost pressure arising from the production factor "labour" and provide a detailed picture of the level, structure and short-term development of labour costs in the different sectors of economic activity in Ireland.

Here is an alternative CSO series, which has median data.

Ah **** property tax. I dont know why people keep wanting to pay more.

The government is just an organisation that takes away the rights your ancestors got for free (living in your own house) and sells them back to you
