If anyone thinks this was a failed PR exercise, they clearly don’t understand what PR is. This made global headlines, was covered by every major outlet from Reuters to The Guardian to Al Jazeera, and dominated social media for days. It sparked debates in parliaments, trended worldwide, and even got airtime on state media in countries that usually ignore climate action entirely. The fact you’re still typing about it days later proves it worked, you don’t argue with things that fail, you ignore them.

PR exercise to highlight Israeli genocide, you despise what Israel is doing but do not offer up options for people to protest or highlight the genocide

Did she leave Israel on a chartered plane?

Pointless as in: achieved absolutely f*CK all. People who support Israel still support Israel, those who oppose Israel held their views long before Greta made her trip. Has it made Netenyahu reconsider the war? Just look at today's news for your answer.

Your copy paste headlines merely prove the point: all about Greta, nothing to do with improving the situation of Palestinians.

Waste of time plus a flight that further poisons the planet

There is no solution except for Americans to vote in a government that doesn't give green light to Israel every time. Every other country is basically irrelevant. In Europe maybe Germany, but they are too scared to take a stance because of the past, so are also complicit. This will just continue

PR stands for Public Relations. It's the strategic practice of managing how information about a person, company, or organisation is communicated to the public with the goal of shaping reputation and influencing perception.

The Americans are never going to back away from Israel. The zionists are buried like ticks in the political system and control vast campaign funds.

The only option is for other superpowers like Europe or China to step in and say enough is enough. This is a genocide and we will not stand idly by and let it happen. China will never do it as they couldn't give a toss so its down to Europe and we're too afraid of pissing off the Americans/infiltrated with zionists to do anything. Until Europe steps in there will be no solution and the genocide will continue.

It's still filled with ablest crap.

Through a carefully managed coalition of an exploitative establishment and her parents, Thunberg has been elevated to a position beyond her rhetorical means. And we are left with a messianic adolescent of her elders’ creation who says cheering things such as “the world is getting more grim by the day” and that it is facing “a sixth mass extinction” event.

It's removing all agency from her decisions. For some reason there's a certain segment of the population that can't believe she's capable of making her own decisions. And they'll never provide any evidence of this coercive control.

Yeah, if she'd just stuck to the line of 'sailing that ship in was the right thing to do', that'd have been fine. But she has to somehow not completely alienate her usual audience, I guess.

Greta must be the first hostage in history whose captors only demand is that she leave.

To be fair, I'd rather be given a dingy and a paddle and go home rather then spend a few hours in a room with her.

The one time you'd feel bad for the poor Israel soliders who had to put up with her nonsense.

Ya it must have been tough.

It's not easy for an Isreali soldier to hold back on their instincts of beating, torturing or shooting their captors.

Let's be honest: Europe is not a superpower. It's a second rate power, at least when it comes to military, and also due to history of antisemitism it is mostly terrified of upsetting Israel because we all know the accusations that will fly

And these sort of petty remarks just come across as a bit sad. As an earlier poster pointed, she's contributed far more positively than most people will ever do.

You should never feel bad for genocidal maniacs
