    'Remind us'

We already all knew and have known for years. Our collective answer as a society answer has always been 'lets just ignore it and continue to live the way we have even if its going to bite us in the arse in 50 years'.

Its the equivalent of trying to get a drug addict to stop using but they actually choose to keep using knowing they will pay for it later.

If the addict wanted to change and showed signs that they might be able to recover - sure then keep trying. But we clearly don't want to change.

So I can't really see how applauding what is essentially talking to a wall makes any sense.

Fortunately for this flotilla it was well known about so the media was on it from the minute it left.

I'd worry about what would happen to any civilian flotilla if they attempted to arrive into Gaza with aid without the protection of the media.

Nothing achieved plus polluting the skies in the flight home, no wonder she looks so miserable. Still, material for the next book or documentary:

Id say its unlikely that the world is forgetting about events in gaza , isnt that what you suggested greta was doing ???

of course too listen to all the information or talk about two sides of a conflict wouldnt be a good thing ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,756 ✭✭✭mikethecop

isnt it a wonder that Egypt Jordan Syria Saudi etc etc etc don't assist their Islamic brothers in need ?

im sure they all love and support and want to assist the Palestine's right ??

Hats off to her for that.

I'd be interested in seeing if it'll receive the same attention and attendance.

Hope it does. Sudan is another total shitshow.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,758 ✭✭✭Rocket_GD

No that's not what I was suggesting at all. You had said "ok , so who would you think that is now aware that was previously not ?"

So because people are aware of it we shouldn't keep talking consistently on a daily basis? We've been talking about it for nearly 2 years and horrific atrocities are still happening daily. We need to continue talking about the horrific genocide going on.

I don't understand your last sentence, do you think people haven't spoken about the Oct 7th terrorist attack?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,828 ✭✭✭Rezident

Greta and the alleged activists for human rights have been accused of refusing to watch the videos of what their new friends did to civilians on October 7th.

Do they not want to know the truth about their allies or do they know the truth and side with them anyway?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,167 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

Israel and the truth do not go together

Israel and propaganda do go together

One assumes you have seen the video you say is the truth?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,758 ✭✭✭Rocket_GD

Are you still using October 7th (atrocious attack) as justification for this targeted genocide? Do you believe the response has been proportional?

Do you know what the issues were that led up to the terrorist attack on Oct 7th?

These countries are disgusting dictatorships that don't care one jot for their own citizens rights. Why do you think they care about Palistine?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,756 ✭✭✭mikethecop

So we should just stop talking about it as people know about it?

its a thread lad , people can see whats being said , for clarity , your comment is above .

it has very little to do with gretas pointless little jaunt though. its achieved nothing.

Aw now your making an effort not to understand clear points .

    google is your friend

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,601 ✭✭✭Potatoeman

You should watch the footage of it. That was a German woman being drag naked behind that truck and an Irish girl that they kidnapped. They still hold many of those civilians hostage. Palestine needs to get rid of Hamas.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,758 ✭✭✭Rocket_GD

That's your point, mine is that we should be talking about this every single day, even if the horrific genoicde ever ends.

Anything at all that keeps people talking about it be it a flotilla of activists, actual footage from the region, a Kneecap concert ANYTHING at all to make sure people don't quieten even a tiny bit.

How has it not achieved anything? The IDF illegally detained a group of civilians, yet they are claiming they are doing all of this under the guise that Hamas illegally detained Israeli civilians. They have shown their hypocrisy to the world.

You're not making clear points. What is your stance on this genocide?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,758 ✭✭✭Rocket_GD

I've seen footage of it, it's horrendous, I've never done anything but condemn the attack.

It doesn't justify the IDF response which is inflicting a genoicde on the Palestinian people, or do you think it does?

Have you watched all the videos of the tens of thousands of innocent children being killed, injured, being starved?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,601 ✭✭✭Potatoeman

That’s the result of their governments refusal to give back the hostages. They started a war they couldn’t win and refuse to surrender, they are also hoarding the aid for themselves.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,758 ✭✭✭Rocket_GD

So the IDF/Israel did nothing at all to antogonise Hamas in the lead up to Oct 7th over the past decades?

Wasn't it the IDF who broke the agreed upon ceasefire?

Hoarding aid is Israeli propaganda, can you confirm how you know this as a fact?

Given that war criminal Netanyahu has repeatedly stated that he's going to continue murdering Gazan women and children regardless of whether the hostages are released, starve to death, or are killed by Hamas, it's difficult to see what Hamas has to gain by giving them back, dead or alive.

Of course it would be nice if they were released simply for humanitarian reasons, but Netanyahu's ongoing campaign of genocide means that humanity is in very short supply on both sides of this conflict.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,758 ✭✭✭Rocket_GD

Ye that's not really an answer, want to try again and answer the first two questions?

A reminder that Palestine != Hamas. Palestinian civilians != Hamas.

What Hamas did on October 7th was terrible. What Israel have done since is also terrible.

All of these things can be true.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,601 ✭✭✭Potatoeman

Look into the history, Palestine refused to negotiate during the borders being drawn up after ww2, everyone else did and they got themselves excluded. That includes other nations in the region.

Hamas have been firing rockets at Israel for years, a ceasefire breech by Israel isn’t that surprising.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,758 ✭✭✭Rocket_GD

Ok so it's all Palestine faults, Israel have never done anything wrong.

Glad to know where you stand, no point continuing this anymore.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,756 ✭✭✭mikethecop

Grand lad talk away , i can tune ye all out :-)

pretending that some one was kidnapped and a hostage is just false and misleading , the girl was sent home , deported and dismissed as the irrelevant voice she is in this context ,

asking her to actually view and acknowledge the facts of what happened on 7 October would obviously a reality check and clearly demonstrate the difference between kidnapping and deportation dont you think ? .

Why do you feel that i own you an opinion on gaza because i object to some one portraying themselves as a victim of kidnapping when she clearly is not .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,758 ✭✭✭Rocket_GD

So you're saying that they were not illegally detained? A civilian boat in International waters was stopped and detained and the people held against their will with their possessions taken from them? Sounds like a normal and civilsed response to an aid vessel.

I'm guessing they like most of us have seen those horrific video's from Oct 7th, again for the 3rd time I have never done anything other than condemn that horrible attack. We continue to witness horrific videos on a daily basis from the region of women, children and babies being targeted by the IDF, being forcibly displaced from their home, aid being prevented and literally starving them in their "safe zones" (concentration camps).

You don't owe me anything you just seem overly offended by 12 civilians trying to bring aid to a region being decimated by a genocide. Seems odd unless you were a supporter of the IDF.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 18,167 ✭✭✭✭A Dub in Glasgo

Was she taken against her will in international waters?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,828 ✭✭✭Rezident

Greta and her mob must deny the truth of what their side did on 7th Oct, just as they have already started the lies that women were not raped, that it was as all exaggerated, even though their friends recorded it and broadcast it.

It's clever by the AS army, because self-styled anti-fascists can never admit that they sided with the Anti-Semitic army that carried out the worst act of fascist violence, rape and mass murder of our time. That they picked the wrong side on the worst crime against humanity in recent times? Unconscionable. Easier to just deny everything and don't look.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,756 ✭✭✭mikethecop

they were not kidnapped , it wasn't piracy as clearly stated here and by greta her self

sailing a boat into a war zone is a bad idea isnt it. who knows what thier intentions were , we have idiots running onto active runways and attacking police here for gaza .

what was taken from them. didnt they drop phones and laptops into the sea in case the idf got some intel of them ?

so you agree the definition of kidnap and hostage applies to what hamas did ? which is not the same as what the idf did right?

So a pr stunt ending in her being deported and dismissed as unimportant .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,758 ✭✭✭Rocket_GD

One simple question as it’s clear we completely disagree.

Why do you support the IDF?

sigh so predictable , why do you support hamas , ? see same thing isnt it

who said i did , i just dont like liars ,

one of the great failing the anti Israel agenda has is the blind aggressive strident nature of its people .

any opinion that doesn't align exactly with thier own is labeled pro idf ,

hamas needs to be destroyed for all our safety , if the idf do that then fine
