She should stay ahead of NOT and I'd expect plenty of transfers from him.
    She'll have mine anyway.

Would love to see O Cuiv lose out. Dinosaur type views. However, it won't happen.

Significant differences between the two tallies.

Yeah I am confused too. I didn't give her a chance after local elections.

About half a dozen of the SF poll toppers lost their council seats last year, weird.

Just seen Holly Cairns (SD) who came from nowhere to nick a council seat in Cork south west in the locals - is in with a good chance of a seat.

    Lesson for NOT there perhaps.

Crowe needs O' Cuiv to have a big surplus to be passed on to have any chance. That wont happen going on the tallys We'll have to stick to the lamposts we have

thats a great result for cubbard. An independant running with no posters. Labour really have screwed up in Galway from having a poll topping td turned president to 2.5% first prefernce according to tally is scandolous

No magic lamps for Galway :D

cant believe the way farrell has gotten votes. thought she would be in the running for last seat fighting it out with greens and sd. Amazing job by sinn fein nationally because this is a national vote and not based on local politics.

Mairead Farrell seems a bit surprised by vote strength currently on Radio1

She should be shocked. It's one of the biggest upsets I ever experienced.
She lost her council seat (Galway City East) last May and nearly tops the poll in the general election 8 months later.

She only got 7% of the vote in her council LEA. It's hard to fathom.

"Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin has arrived at the Cork South Central count centre. Asked if he’s open to doing a deal with Sinn Fein, he says “significant incompatibilities” still exist."

    Rollback City.

Noel Grealish in flying form at the count centre, he has made a remarkable recovery.

Grealish was at a funeral today apparently, mentioned it just now on Radio1
Now discussing immigration, particularly Albania and Georgia

Now presenter moves to interview Bertie Ahern

    Another Independent who'll contribute nothing.

What exactly has Grealish achieved for Galway or on a national level since being elected?
He hardly ever shows up to the Dáil.

Absolutely nothing. But hes pretty much held the exact same vote so why would he change. Hes a standard Irish politician who could easily be a member of fine gael or fianna Fail but it is more financially beneficial for him to be an independent.

Farrell clearly enjoying the congraulatory "peck" from Crowe.

1st count in. tally looked to be fairly accurate. assume CC will attract a lot of transfers when green and SD go out. just a matter of which FG candidate gets more transfers for the last seat i think
