When can we expect the results of the first count? Going to be a real battle for the last seat.

I'd say before evening we will see Grealish and Cuív being hoisted onto shoulders.

It would be some turn around for Farrell to go from loosing her council seat last year to becoming a td now. O Cuiv will still have a big surplus. Where that goes after he gets in will decide alot

SF might do well nationally but Farrell hasn't a prayer.

Farrell is fairing surprisingly very well in the early tallies...

Any idea when a Galway West tally will be realesed?

Yeah I heard some SF candidate in Kildare went on holidays during the campaign and still might get a seat. The SF brand might elect a lot of SF folks that probably didn't feel they had a hope. I still think Farrell will do well to come 7th

No but RTE have a Twitter account with updates from Galway West, worth keeping an eye on.

Updated ... (still mostly city boxes)

O'Tuathail is struggling in city which is a pity.

He needed to be ahead of Mike cubbard and closer to conolly to have a chance at the last seat. Cant see him getting a seat on those tallys unless he manages to get 2s from all over the constituency.

Ya I was way out. Didn't think Farrell had a chance. TOC pulled in 5755 first preferences in 2016 but wasn't transfer friendly. SF will be more transfer friendly in this election. How someone can go from been a no hoper not even getting elected in council to been a TD in such a short period of time is crazy.

Yeah I am confused too. I didn't give her a chance after local elections.

PaddyPower got it totally wrong too.
    Could've had SF at 7/1

Didn't think she would be anywhere near the top either . Massive vote for change

Are these figures looking bad for Catherine Connolly or is it still a bit early?

Too early. I'd say Tuesday will give a result!

Mairead Farrell safe for a seat 2 hours after the count started was not what I expected!
Can't believe that Ollie Crowe is polling so well, really didn't think people would fall for the absolute nonsense he was peddling.

she did well with transfers last time. I'd say she will get lots of transfers when smaller left votes go out. fine gael wont get 2 tds back in.

I thought they were looking like a strong start for Catherine Connolly.

Will do well with transfers from Greens and no hopers.

She should stay ahead of NOT and I'd expect plenty of transfers from him.

    Grealish ahead of O'Cuiv (3rd) now. :-o

Edit: O'Cuiv on top now, Grealish in 3rd. Must have been a batch of Oughterard boxes.
