There is no contradiction.
Your contention is that a media outlet covering a major story is somehow avoiding mentioning important local topics.
The Kirk murder is worldwide news and was all over the papers being reviewed in the Newspaper Panel.
There are very clearly issues relevant to all countries including Ireland such as political violence, online radicalisation etc.
