She didn't really make any big statement about Gay Byrne on his passing or wasn't interviewed on the LLS tribute show - I wonder what was behind that, indeed if anything.

She seemed to shun the media spotlight, rarely gave interviews and was not part of the Dublin social scene at all.

Good point in fairness- John Clarke wasn't mentioned since after the start of the show.

My dad died 3 years ago today, an old man, nothing tragic. But I'm thinking of him today. Not an rte presenter.

I'm sorry to hear of Marian's passing but it's not my grief and don't want to pay a license fee for this hammed up rubbish which RTE is specialising in.

I buried my mother on Dec 23rd this year and to be honest I find the constant eulogising by accuaintances of Marian mawkish and even insincere in some cases. We the ordinary punter didn't know her. We tuned in some weeks and some weeks not. She's a terrible loss to her family but life for us will go on more or less the same as it was anyways RIP to her

Every appearance by Nell appears to be a car crash (but she was rather bonkers and off the wall even in her 'heyday'.....I was never a fan).

Carter and Bannon. Ha, they're only missing Oliver Callan for the full...

Oh, wait, no, there he is.

Don't like being morbid...we're all going to die. I don't think there should be eulogies every time an RTE celebrity dies. They'll be coming thick and fast in the next few years.

Dermot Morgan is turning in his grave

  • Registered Users Posts: 7,037 ✭✭✭Jeff2

These shows just don't work so soon.

Anyone who genuinely knows her wouldn't be on this show.

That's what I thought when I seen people on RTE news the day she died.
Saying I only found out an hour ago.

How Could you be on the phone to a news show an hour after you found out your friend died. :(

    I'm sorry for your loss.

I agree completely. This programme is like rte having their wake on live television for an audience who don't know the deceased.
