Maneater - iconic 80s song. One of the first that always springs to mind for me.
Dumb Things - one of my choices. One of my favourite songs of all-time. Shame it's against such a popular hit. People should listen to it if they're unfamiliar all the same.
Baby Jane - it's the better of the two.
Englishman In New York - really tough choice, as both are great, but going with Sting over Bono.

17: The Cure - Love this song
18: Run DMC & Aerosmith - Grandfathers of rap with grandfathers of rock - it probably shouldn't work but it does
    19. Rod Stewart - Good song but it would have to be a bad one for me to lose to that other tuneless, cheesy dirge
    20. U2 - Not even close. Nothing against Sting's song but it came up against a heavyweight

Some great songs being knocked out, some really tough decisions already, and we're still only in qualifiers. This is gonna be a great comp.

Even after playing the link to it, I have to say that I don't recall ever hearing that song before. That said, Billy Idol would definitely have gotten another vote from me.

I think someone mentioned a dislike for Collins previously. I would like to join them on this crusade.

(Also I really like this song :) )

Who doesnt like a bit of cheese :D

Queen - A Kind Of Magic

You could probably take the worst Queen song and it would be better than a lot of other stuff.

This isn't one of their worst imo, it's pretty damn good and gets my vote.

No opinion on the other match.

Two Hearts - once again, here are two songs I really like, but think its gotta be Phil Collins in this particular instance.
Take On Me - there's another a-ha song I hope will go through more, but no denying this is a classic too.
It's a Sin - as much as I love Queen, It's a Kind of Magic is one song of theirs that always grated on me, and Pet Shop Boys deserve to advance here anyway.
Living On The Ceiling - don't particularly care for either of these two, easily the weakest two songs in these 4 matches, but Living On The Ceiling is the better of the two if I had to choose.

    .

    21. That was me. Welcome aboard, Brother. Although I do really like the song that Phil has been drawn against so a resounding yes for Kim Wilde from me.

    22. What a bastard of a draw. I’m a big Roses fan and seeing them live in Manchester was a real bucket list moment I thought I’d never see but Take on Me is 80s pop perfection so my vote goes to A-ha

    23. Pet Shop Boys - I like Queen but IMO they have much better songs.

    24. I didn’t know either of these so gave both a listen. Not a fan of either but the Neneh Cherry one was just a badly produced bunch of noise to my ears and I turned it off halfway through. The Blancmange one was a bit of a Talking Heads sounding nonsense and I could see why someone would choose it, even if not to my tastes so it gets my vote.
