Played the Point in 2017 and RDS in 2018, would they ever give us a break.

As much as I like the Killers ,I think I will be giving this a miss.

The new album seems to be just Brandon and Ronnie ,much like the last one.
Dave seems to have been cut out of the band and Mark has almost no input either.

Its no longer The Killers as such ,its two of the original lineup .

I think they also played Belsonic this year?

I couldn't imagine anything worse, standing in a crowd that band would attract, well I can, an Avril Lavigne crowd, I couldn't help myself but to buy a ticket for that. Imagine an ugly short neck beard like me standing in that sort of crowd.

Anybody know the price of tickets for this?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,619 ✭✭✭✭errlloyd

I was there in the RDS and it was a pretty great gig. No complaints. I was able to get Golden Circle below face value a week before though, so I can't see them selling out Malahide Castle.

    69.90 plus fees so ~ 77 euro.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 220 ✭✭turnfan

Sam Fender worth EUR25 at least so this is pretty good value I think.

They won't sell out Malahide castle though, what's the capacity there?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,079 ✭✭✭PCros

Malahide is 20,000 - I think the RDS is 30,000

Will they be Playing new stuff or their class older stuff or a mix ?

Jaysus, didn't think Malahide was smaller than RDS! I think they're excellent live in fairness, always put on a proper show despite not being to everyone's fancy!

Malahide is 20k, RDS is 38k with pitch standing

I did not realise there was 38k at an RDS gig. That seems WAY too high?

Think when the seating is removed at the city end they can get 40k. I believe a lot of capacity are dependent on what the streets can take around the venues and thats why a lot of regional gaa stadiums had there capacitys reduced.

If the killers could flog over 30 to 40 k off tickets why not play the rds for just one night ? Surely it would be cheaper for a promoter unless there getting malahide for peanuts?

RDS could well have all it’s quota used up, with Green Day and the usual Reading Headliners playing there(one would guess MCR are almost a guarantee and Possibly twenty one Pilots),

Not big enough for Croke Park or Slane.

Malahide is MCD’s other real option

Would absolutely love to go to this. The only major drawback is timing. Will it be a post leaving/junior cert piss up for alot of kids..... Will more than likely chance it anyways

I don’t know how everyone hasn’t had their fill of this band by now

At the RDS last year the demographic was the exact opposite. At 28 I felt like I was the youngest person there. Same time of year, June 20th maybe?

I don’t think the kids are listening to the killers are they? The1975 are the new killers.

You would be surprised. I was shocked at the amount of kids below 20 at Liam the weekend past...

Ah I'll more than likely give it a miss though. Depending on other announcements.

I must be the only person in Ireland who hasn't seen them yet. Will defo make this one. Loved the first 2 albums. No idea what happened after that. I think I have sawdust in my CD collection (old school, I know). But never listened to it. Just got into different type of music I guess.

I saw them on Sky Arts, or one of those channels. Live gig. It seemed excellent. Great vibe about it.

They are one of the bands that always deliver live and I wouldn’t even be a fan really but I’ve seen them twice at festivals.

Might go to this. Saw them on tv at Glastonbury this year and it looked like a good show. I wonder if they will play their old material i.e like Mr Brightside.

They always do. They usually close the show with that.

The new single Caution is out .

    Lindsey Buckingham on guitar .

No sign of Dave Keuning in any promo stuff ,which is disappointing .
The album seems to be just Brandon and Ronnie again ,Mark had a small bit of input .

Music for the masses and there is still more in the tank. Hot Fuss was fairly good back in 2005 though I must say.

Wondering will this gig go ahead...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,079 ✭✭✭PCros

    Hard to know.

Still 60 days out until they start their European tour and organisers will be waiting until the last minute to make a call on it.

June is a huge month for MCD with most of the gigs outdoors. It will be near impossible to reschedule any of them.

Not showing as cancelled on Ticketmaster after today's announcement, couldn't see any option for a refund

They’ll amend it shortly. It could be a week or two yet.

They usually wait for promoters to clarify if it is to be rescheduled first.
