He's only been on Virgin Media's coverage for every match for the last few years, not sure why I'm acting so surprised at this, still great to get wit and insight from the great man!

He makes me change channel. I've nothing against the guy, I respect him, just can't bear 90 mins of listening to him taking sh1te in a Dublin accent

    He's bleedin' rapid, 'n all 'n anyways.

For a minute I thought you were that lad who starts threads giving out about him every week.

Nothing wrong with Kerr. He's got loads of experience behind him. I'd listen to him all day.

Heard him on last night ..in the Denmark match ....noooo....tries to take over the commentary ....fractured English ....stamped on the orf buttton.

At least you're more sensible than that other lad who always complains about him.

He's on right now, this is amazing!

Jaysus…. Someone shut Kerr up… please

What did Kerr ever do to this Bendar guy?

I'm constantly baffled by people who give out about Kerr's accent. He's always spoken like that and never tries to hide where he's from. Much rather that than lads getting on commentary with a fake accent. There's a reason why he's on most games and that's because he knows the game inside out. A dublin accent isn't really a plus point in media circles

Ah feck it, I always seem to be away when the great man is on commentary.

If he denies the insufferable Sadlier a starting spot, I'm all for it

The great man is on commentary again tonight.

    Fantastic stuff.

    Tbf, Kerr knows his football.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,175 ✭✭✭✭Brendan Bendar

Hopefully Kerr’s move to O’ Sheas team will keep him off Virgin Media.

We can watch a game in peace without the constant whine.

    Hopefully, anyway.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,152 ✭✭✭Allinall

He’ll still be on Virgin, and rightly so.

You should listen to what he says, and not how he says it.

You might learn a little bit about football.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,175 ✭✭✭✭Brendan Bendar

I’m sure he’s a nice lad, but I really couldn’t go through that.

    Soz, shaft.

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,269 Mod ✭✭✭✭Say Your Number

The great man can do both surely.

Great to see the man back in Irish football, always enjoyed him in interviews with Second Captains.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,175 ✭✭✭✭Brendan Bendar

Let’s hope O’Shea gives him the boot after the two games.

I know it’s just two games. But the lad is yesterdays man.

Whats the old saying. “Every dog has his day”

Pack it in dude….. game is up.

The great man should be back in the main job again, but then we wouldn't hear his sharp insights and wit on commentary, I'd be against it because of that.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,239 ✭✭✭Shakyfan

Here's a thought! If you don't like someone on TV just ignore them. No need to come onto a public forum over the course of 5 years whinging about him..

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,269 Mod ✭✭✭✭Say Your Number

Disappointing there's no great man tonight, even worse this match is a waste of time, should have shown Madrid Leipzig instead.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,175 ✭✭✭✭Brendan Bendar

Excellent coverage tonight, sound commentary, win win

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 95 ✭✭esker72

Be interesting to see the dynamic between him and O'Shea seeing as O'Shea played for him right through underage to Seniors. Obviously a lot of respect there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,175 ✭✭✭✭Brendan Bendar

Hopefully O'Shea will be strong enough to not let him dominate everything.

We have had enough of what's called the "barrow boy' mentality in that position.

Brendan you're a good lad, and I respect your opinion, but you are without a doubt 100 percent wrong here.

    Ok…. Point taken… maybe I was a bit harsh.

we will follow the new management set up over the two games and see how it pans out.

    Appreciate your caveats …..

    Thanks

Didn’t see much interaction between Mr Kerr and the rest of the ‘team’ to be fair.?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,175 ✭✭✭✭Brendan Bendar

Tv and punditry quite good on the two games

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 20,175 ✭✭✭✭Brendan Bendar

someone tell Kerr to put a sock in it.

Let’s the guy commentate on the game.

Hope VM are wise enough to have Kerr on commentary for the Champions League final in a few weeks, he is their best analyst by a mile.

Correctly predicted a Atalanta win against Leverkusen earlier.

    Brian is a football man.

Just turned on Virgin Media 2 and was pleasantly surprised to hear the great man's mellifluous tones on the Atalanta Celtic match.

    Brilliant stuff.

Not sure what to make of this new Champions League format seems like a load of bollox, but hearing the great man brighten up a dark January evening like tonight completely justifies it.

Thank God I steered clear of the lad.

  • Moderators, Entertainment Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 12,269 Mod ✭✭✭✭Say Your Number

You're well wide of the mark here Brendan, he's the best analyst by a considerable distance.

I remember he was co-commentating on some EPL match a couple of years ago, and a player got a smack of the ball in the face, to which Brian goes "he got it right in the snot" 🤣
