He is already trying to wriggle out of his debt. Allegedly separated from the wife etc etc.

I guess he will never pay the loan back and never do a day in prison. Cnut.

He’s a nasty piece of work.

What he did to that Chinese family who were renting a restaurant off him was a scumbag act.

Nearly sure I seen a load of protestors surround his car a few weeks ago outside the Gibson hotel.

They had a problem with fracking

If it was him he jumped out and stood up to a protestor in a let’s be having you sort of way then headed into the hotel. They sat at his car for a while then headed into pitta pit where a few squad cars turned up and a guard told them off.

99 per cent sure it was him.

Something about selling off a fracking license.

We wondered why they didn’t have work and had money for pitta pit.

This will be another case where he won't pay back....

Amusing to see that his own lawyers have effectively described Callelly junior as a stupid moron! Who are we to argue with such learned men!

Thanks for the update. He's unbelievable, locals have completely shunned him, don't want anything to do with him, but he marches up the Howth road in a suit nodding and waving to everyone like some sort of celebrity to blank, amused or confused looks.

Used to see him outside Clontarf Rd DART stn handing out leaflets back in 'his pomp', all the stuff I've read about him makes him sound like some late middle aged character Rob Brydon or Steve Coogan would invent for a mini-series.

He was interviewed on his boat a few years ago wearing a kimono. Probably had a pink thong on underneath it, the little budgeen. He's comic book material now. The wife even hung him him out to dry during her court case. Thsse pair of flutes thought they were Burton and Taylor during the boom. He'd make a great jockey, the little fart

Have any details of the 'accident' come into the public domain?

don't know anything really about Callelly.

But 'lawyers' - .... sickening to the gills that the vast majority of these "*#^ are the Real Government of this country. Fianna Fail solicitors are the stranglehold on the justice system.
Listening to their puppet F.F. politicians is depressing.

(so Callelly jnr. will be minded by them).

The b0llox represented himself and then said he didn't have time to represent himself because of his injuries. Some people really have no sense of right and wrong. He just takes the p1ss out of the law.

What an absolute scummer. Glad the judge didn't fall for it.

He is the classic Fianna fail corrupt grasping cnut in the mould of Ray Burke but even more thick.

In Cork apparently? Does he still have the holiday home that was his base for travel to the Dáil?

massive problem with F.F. - their tight national network of solicitors do Not take a case ..... if they think the judgement will affect F.F. companies, in any further case. (also, F.G. sols., row in with this too).

so, people are unrepresented, or do not take a case.

And hey presto, FF's indiarubber man has bounced back into the headlines again!

    https://www.businesspost.ie/news/controversial-ex-fianna-fail-minister-ivor-callely-makes-e173000-settlement-with-revenue/

    Extracts:

Ivor Callely, the former Fianna Fáil junior minister, has made a settlement of nearly €173,000 with Revenue after an audit found an under-declaration of debt at his Dublin motor dealership. Callely, who resigned from Fianna Fáil in 2010 due to an expenses scandal and was later jailed for fraud, was named on a list of tax defaulters published on Tuesday.

He was a junior minister in Bertie Ahern’s government until he resigned in December 2005 after it emerged that one of the country’s biggest construction firms paid for work carried out at this home in the 1990s. He lost his seat at the next election and was appointed a senator by Ahern in 2007.

In 2010 the Irish Independent reported that the Clontarf resident had been claiming overnight and travel expenses from a property owned in West Cork since he was elected to the Seanad in 2007.

The Irish Mail on Sunday reported that in 2007, he had claimed €4,207.45 for mobile phone handsets and car kits purchased from a company called Business Communications Limited between 2002 and 2005. Problem was that this company had ceased trading in 1994, eight years before his earliest claim.
