It’s amazing how many peoples ports are getting “stuck”. They told me the exact same thing. Rescheduled them, and appears like they’re “stuck” again. A highly frustrating and infuriating process.

So is it safe to assume someone else got your wife's SIM, therefore, for every sim received with the incorrect phone number there are two account holders screwed up?

If the sim phone number is not the same as the one attached to your wife's on-line account I wouldn't use it.
Sounds about right. Twitter support is v slow. Two replies today so far with one line responses...

The other SIM isn't working but I'm not planning on using it now, either!

I had originally chosen to port my number from Eir on 3rd November and decided to bite the bullet and change today. I updated the port date and within 2 minutes my number had been ported and I’m all set and ready to go now.

Is it a case that the majority of port attempts that are stuck are from non eir providers?

Are most of the eir to GoMo moves working without any hassle?

I was thinking it might be bill pay to GoMo that are getting stuck, just a hunch.
I ported last Friday from Lycamobile PAYG within a few minutes.

My wife's port that isn't done yet (her old sim has gone dead, but new SIM doesn't haven't her number transferred) is her coming from a 30 day rolling Eir contract so there should be nothing holding it up.

I ported from the same network and same contract last week no problem.

I was supposed to port on Friday from 3 but only changed over earlier after contacting them via Twitter.

    "Sim not provisioned"

    What's that mean?

I ordered sim a while back, it came, this morning was port day, nothing all day.

Now postman has brought me another sim???

Did they activate this one and not the first one??

Same here, ported within 3 minutes from 3. Very happy so far!

Ordered a week or so ago arrived within about two days.
Selected yesterday as my changeover date - thought no more about it until my phone suddenly started telling me my sim was not working. Switched in new GoMo one put in sim password and everything worked first time.
Was worried about the porting part as obv. the new sim had a different number on it but all worked with zero hassle

In short couldn't be happier with the service.

Ported from Eir this morning. Seemless. Speeds a little better around Laois/Kildare.

    Great value.

Port from Vodafone scheduled for 4PM today. Text from Vodafone at 4:01 to say thanks for your business. Fully ported calls, texts and data working at 4:02.

Cant ask for more than that!

Looks like my port is finally happened? It says my old 3 SIM is no longer provisioned so would that be it??

I signed up On the 16th of October. My number was due to be ported tomorrow, The sim arrived today so I changed it to the earliest time I could today. It just switched over now and everything looks good, data and calls are working, and coverage is better than I had previously with three. Happy with it so far!

Just having a look through their Twitter page. The amount of rudeness towards their staff is unbelievable. Almost mostly down to the person’s own stupidity.

    This one was on another level, though;

I think a lot of the issues here could be solved with a bit of the old turn it off and turn it on again treatment.

Have to agree with her in principle, but she should have checked her own text.

I’m on rolling 30 day sim only with EIR business. How did you go about giving notice to EIR? Can you do it online? Easy enough?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 128 ✭✭BubbleBuddy

A few hours to port from VF today, no issues bar the iMessage activation, signed out of iCloud which fixed it. Changed number on phone in Settings. Switched phone on and off. APN settings were set to eirmobile and didn't have to edit. Voicemail set up without a problem. 4g download speeds ranging from 20-37mbps in and out locally.

Very happy with GoMo so far.

GoMo is not for business users.

    Why not?

Its in the terms and conditions.
In thoery nothing to stop someone for using it for business, but the service will be disconnected if they believe you are using it for business.

Exactly. It’s a small business . Couple of phones , no reason why not ? Better value than current EIR package.

Damn right, you can still take an order using a GoMo phone sim the same as someone foolish enough to pay Vodafone €65 per month :)
